If Ali was in his prime as of now, he would of been a NBA player or a NFL Wide receiver.

But Henry Cooper sucks. Seriously, the heavyweight division isn't missing Don Cockell's. Your elites have never compared to our elites in boxing. This isn't nationalism it's just fact. You had Lewis and Bruno was alright himself. That's about it, though.

If you're argument this whole time is that other nations weren't into boxing when it was bigger in America, or that other European countries aren't big in boxing currently either then I guess that's valid. However, I think where the block of HW are coming Eastern Europe there is more of a rise in popularity with boxing there. Maybe it's reactionary or a cause and effect, or a complete coincidence. Doesn't matter. All the potential depth pool is playing in the NFL or NBA. Nobodies saying there isn't talent elsewhere in other countries in other sports, however, if these NFL/NBA players were all into boxing the belts would most likely be held by Americans... just like it has been for most of boxings history (And we're mostly referring to the HW's).

By the way, Dwight Howard can punch like an absolute beast according to Chris Byrd.

He admits that's where all the US heavyweights are. That's a previous HW champ basically admitting the division is weaker and has far less depth, and if it wasn't for the rise in the NBA/NFL in America than he wouldn't have been champ. More or less.

Don't mind him Arran. The man dick rides PAc to no end. He's given PAc more blowjobs than a man who has to put air into 20,000 balloons.

The americans are haters because boxing has gone global and just like Basketball and Baseball you are no longer dominant.

Which is why the major leagues and the NBA are where everyone comes to prove themselves?

And everybody comes to England to prove themselves in football and rugby yet you dismiss these athletes for no apparent reason.

Lets take alook at his guy for instance Mr Andrew Sheridan

    This content is protected

262lbs, 6 ft 5, bench presses 225kg, but according to americans on this site, this guy couldnt be a boxer, and rugby + football havent taken away form british boxing at all, but in the case of nfl and nba players they have taken away from american boxing, and the equivilant american would be a possible US boxer. It amazes me how you come to these conclusions.

I definitely agree that its a myth. If americans can whine and ***** about there being 10 great HWs on each NFL and NBA team, then any other country can say the exact same thing, just switch the NBA and NFL with whatever sports are most popular in each respective country. The reality is, the US still has way more HWs than any other country. Thats why I dont find it a legitimate excuse. the 2 best HWs in the world are from Ukraine. According to boxrec, Ukraine has 25 professional HWs. The US has 405 pro HWs. No other country comes anywhere close to that number. But you dont hear them all crying and making excuses. I said this to an american once before, and his response was that, sure we still have a lot more heavies than anybody else, but we would do a lot better if we had like 10,000 HWs. Guess what? So would every other country. And if you need to have a massive advantage like that to produce a better HW than a country with only 25, then thats pretty pathetic.

    Dumb post.

It really isn't so difficult to figure out (though apparently non-Americans have some kind of severe debilitating mental issue on the subject).

Here's the US HEAVYWEIGHTS analysis for IDIOTS version:

    1) Look at the current US heavyweights
    2) Check to see if there are any large sized super athletes in this country
    3) Note that there are many hundreds of them not boxing but performing at the highest level of athletic competition
    4) Compare the athletic quality between the two
    5) Not the obvious difference in size, athleticism, talent, speed, power, quickness, etc.

As for other countries, they are welcome to state whatever the **** they want about their own talent pool and how it might do if the entire country was focused on boxing to the exclusion of any and all other endeavors. That doesn't mean **** to anyone over here.

The US heavyweight boxing scene is diminished by the hyperbolic success occurring in the NFL/NBA/MLB.

    Simple as that.
