A superb one I heard on the General a few months back

Apparently Ricardo Mayorga sometimes liked to spar totally naked so his sparring partners would feel inadequate about their manhoods. If it was anybody else but Mayorga I would dismiss it as bull****, but sounds like something he would definitely do.

The myths I useally here people talk about are the Ali Cooper gloves incident, one of my mates actually was going on about how Cooper basically beat Ali. Also I once saw a program were they digitally re created the "phantom punch" and proved that Ali did land cleanly on Liston, though I'm not sure how accurate it was.

this is more trivia than myth, cause its true..

in his last pro fight, former heavyweight champion of the world, jack johnson was beaten by a featherweight....and by knockout.

 

cooper was an oponent who came in at the last minute when francesco damiani AND another oponent fell thru..holyfield was fighting in his home town, glorious home coming and all that, and, in all honesty, i think the occasion got to him and he fought a brawl, and not his usual educated one at that!!...if you think he would take mr tyson as lightly as he took smokin bert, who was, remmeber, no more than a lightly regarded journeyman with a big punch and whose career was, albeit briefly, resurected by his 'glorious failure' against the real deal, i think you are sadly mistaken.....

im not saying mikey never beats evander..im a huge fan of both, but i dont think its a boxing myth to say holyfield had tysons number..and no shame in an all time great warrior like holyfield being the only guy to truly have that number now, is it.....i reckon tyson maybe beats holyfield one time out of ten.....

and, remember, when smokin bert caught holyfield sure he rocked him to his boots, but holyfield recovered and regrouped and got bert the **** out of there.....just like he would do with the vastly superior..(to cooper..obviously...) tyson in my honest opinion.....

evander, tyson and frazier are my three all time favourite heavyweights to watch...
