Im loving Yuh at the moment...Really enjoy his style..Love to get some more film of him.

I think he would really upset Lopez, his will to win seemed unshakable and I really see him suffocating Lopez for room in there. He just never stopped moving and throwing..and he threw punches beautifully and by the book. Loved his left to the body, then up to the head.

How people see this one going? Im sure there are lots of guys on here who have seen more of Yuh then me.

His competition though was, for much of his career, dire.

Rock, I've never seen that much of Yuh, so I can't say conclusively....

So did Yuh for the most part..he never let a fight get out of his reach. He just kept throwing and coming at whoever was there.

He is physically the stronger guy in there aswell and I think would be probably the best infighter Lopez had faced...Ricardo was never consistently pushed on the inside (except for the Alvarez fights), where he undoubtedly would have been less comfortable.

DAMN YOU ROCK!!! i'm just starting to get into Yuh myself and yes, in a way he was similar to alvarez who hurt and troubled one of my all time top p4p fighters in lopez

lopez was on the downside in those fights but the style that troubled him was obvious. Yuh would bother him, wouldn't allow the ring generalship or control of distance that so categorized lopez's career. BUT lopez was an all time great, would adjust, and would scrap out a decision win after a big last two rounds full of huge uppercuts

I think Yuh would outpoint him. He was quick to block shots with his gloves and arms, and whilst not quite as sharp or fast as Lopez, he seems better in close and was also consistent with his assault.

I say Yuh 115-113. Damn close fight though.

Lopez was a rare technical powerhouse. Almost unfair for his weight. He was better than Yuh.

Yuh barely beat Joey olivio by controversial decision in Korea ( i know fought at same gyms as Olivio when i was a kid) Olivio was tall and a very good boxer not big puncher. What im getting at as for as much love as i got for Olivio he was no RIcardo Lopez Lopez was the whole package perfect fighter and easily the greatest Junior fly of all time. Only an extremley ruff tuff Rosendo alvarez gave him a tuff fight but Lopez handled him in the rematch. Chiquita and Carbajal would also have gotten whupped by Lopez.

I'd pick Lopez here, but he's not easily the best junior fly of all time.

Yuh presents the same type of stylistic nightmare that his compatriot Jung Koo Chang would, and his volume punching and body work would keep him in the fight, to be certain. But Lopez's sharper punching and greater versatility would probably be the deciding factors, and I see him squeaking out a very close decisions.

What was your scorecard for the fight, and what did you think of it?

I didn't think it was controversial at all, clear Yuh victory, although close (I had Yuh by three points).

Lopez and Olivo don't have the same fighting style though.

Lopez by clear Decision, albeit a very competitive one. I just think he'd have the range on Yuh, who never had the fastest feet. Against similarly flat-footed boxers or ones who stood within range more often (i.e. Carbajal) I'd give him the edge, but Lopez's footwork is what seals it for me. He had excellent in and out movement. I think he'd keep the distance more often than not to slow Yuh's out-put, while feinting/jabbing his way in to land the more solid combinations and take the fight on the cards.

Ricardo Lopez the best Junior Flyweight of all time? Is that some kind of sick joke?

I'm not confident in making a pick here, but I am a pretty big advocate of Myung Woo Yuh's credibility as a world class operator. His combination of amazing work rate and punching technique is fairly rare in my judgment, and he'd certainly pose problems for any fighter who ever lived at Light Flyweight. Lopez is the type of fighter who works most effectively at his own pace with time to pick his combination's, but I tend to think Yuh would work his way in close fairly quickly, and be throwing a 100 punches a round, body and head. He wasn't a big puncher but he hit hard enough to get his opponents respect. On the flip side, Lopez could probably find a home for his uppercut given how low Yuh would come in with his head, and he had serious pop.

It'd be a competitive fight irrespective of what Anarci would you have believe.
