I wonder what JMMs plan will be on fight night.

He says he needs to pressure and go for the KO to win.
Nacho is saying he needs to control the fight pace himself and win a decision basically.

So which one will be done??

Nacho said JMM must survive the early rounds without sustaining too much punishment.

So I think they'll be on the defensive for the first few to gauge Pac's timing and rhythm, and once they're comfortable, they'll then up the tempo in the second half where Pac won't be quite as devestating.

That has always been JMMs mistake in his close fights. He sees he is having success and has a momentary defensive lapse. I would say that is the Mexican in him. You can teach him defense all you want but he still wants to engage.
I felt he was on his way to sweeping Pac in their rematch until the 3rd when he started having even more success countering Pac. Right before the KD he was landing plenty flush on Pac and Pac was not finding him much so he opened up too much and gave Pac a chance.

That where if he can keep composed i feel he can UD Pac well in our eyes anyways. Their fights will always be close and up to the judges to who wins. I find it hard to imagine them robbing JMM a 3rd time if he does cleanly outbox him for a good 8 rounds.

Wow man great, great interview with Don Nacho. You couldn't ask for a more honest trainer and he seems to love to train more than money itself. A living legend.

Agree with a lot of what you've said there.

I've always felt that one of the keys to beating Pac, is the job of remaining cool. Easier said than done, I know. But JMM is the better boxer out of the two, and as long as he resists the tempation to brawl, he'll have a lot of success. He'd have learned a lot from the past fights, and I'm pretty certain we'll see a more defensive approach from him.

You know i think he will finally stay cool this time. His time is winding down and a win over Pac right now would put him above his country men EM and MAB. I think he is just saying he will press for the KO to hype the fight up and give Roach something to think about. He knows Pac has a hell of a chin and is only more dangerous while being engaged. when he presses Pac behind a jab then waits for Pac to throws and times him with 1-3 punch combo he gets the best of him every time. Its when he squares up and unloads a 5-7 punch combination that Pac can catch him due to his blazing speed.

It might make for a less exciting fight in the end but after a long career of exciting fights i would give him a pass if he fought a safer fight here to get the W.

I think its laughable people think Pac will blow him out. Hell he couldnt blow out Mosley who refused to fight back and just circled to his right the whole time. Pac was just throwing his usual 1-2s with an unbalanced power left.
What is Pac going to do when JMM circles to the right and ducks underneath all his punches like usual??
The only way Pac blows JMM out is if age catches up to him and JMM reflexes are not there. If he maintains though its going to be another long night for Pac.
