Marcos Maidana to international media on splitting with Miguel Diaz and hiring Nacho Beristain: "I’ thought I needed a change, but I'm grateful to Miguel. We had a good time together. An agreement was reached and my new trainer will be Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain. We'll travel to Mexico on Saturday to start with him. I'm excited to have the chance to work with a world class and experienced trainer like Nacho. I want to keep learning and bettering myself. We'll set the training camp at the famous La Romanza gym and we'll also work in the heights of Toluca. I always admired Mexican boxing. Beristain has trained the likes of Finito López, Juanma and Rafa Márquez, Daniel Zaragoza, Gilberto Román, and la Chiquita González." Good move though Miguel Diaz was a good trainer too.
HOLY SH*T 0_0 Ok, I take back when I said Morales had a chance against Maidana. RUN MORALES !! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE !! :scaredas:
Wow. What? My first thought is they will not mesh at all but if Maidana does dedicate himself and is open to what Nacho says this could be something that will prolong his career. A brawler like Maidana though i dont know if he could make the transition. It definitely wont hurt but i dont know how much it will help. Beristain doesnt put up with anyones crap so if Maidana gets out of hand he will be kicked out.
Trainers can't try and change a boxer just improve on what he does. I'll tell you what his combinations will be crisper and his footwork would get alot better too.
this guy Madaina continues to impress me, this move is incredible! he is looking to better his technique, the hunger to compete and win at the top level, cant wait to see the improvements Berestain can implement. Chino is good for boxing and exciting to watch. This is the type of Warrior boxing needs. I only wish Miguel Cotto another Warrior who is good for the sport had been as smart, sooner in his career.
