What a shame. It's none of JMM's business who Nacho trains unless Maidana tries to interfere with his personal training or 'steal' Beristain, which is obviously out of question.

So what are the motives? Maybe he plans to fight Chino at one point and wants Nacho with him? Or if he didn't get Morales on his own terms (without Golden Boy contract extension), they guy who did shouldn't get any help from his camp? Or maybe Arum who interfered hinting JMM he gets Pac if leaves GBP suggested to mess a little with the all-Golden Boy Morales/Maidana fight? My guess this is some sort of vengeange toward Golden Boy either one is behind it.

Very unprofessional way to handle it, at least meet Maidana in person and tell sorry it's not gonna work. I don't think the respected Rudy Perez is as good a choice Beristain was.

PS: the title should be renamed, he didn't dump him after 1 day, there was no 1 day, it sould be "Nacho dumps Maidana 2 hours before 1st day on the request of Marquez"

Nacho is the one who said yes and was happy. Maidana flies to Nacho to start his camp. JMM says **** off.

How is that a dick move by Nacho? I mean, Nacho clearly didn't see Maidana in Marquez's future and at the end of the day, Nacho is doing his job and training fighters and suddenly the fighter is the calling the shots on who he trains?

I don't like it, but whatever. Not a good move by JMM. Makes him look like a dick, as other posters have said.

I don't see anything wrong with a fighter not wanting to share gym or trainer with a fighter he will likely face....

...It's like Roach training JMM for a fight with Khan...I doubt Khan would like that.

Put yourself in JMM's shoes and you will see where he's coming from.

The one at fault is Nacho for not discussing this with his main man.

JMM is a fighter, not the Boss of a trainer.

Yes, so Nacho could have easily said to Maidana , "if a Marquez-Maidana fight comes to the table, I will have to go with Marquez"

Same as Roach saying, if a Pacquiao-Khan fight comes to the table, he will have to go with Pacquiao.

Actually, JMM HIRES Nacho, the Hirer therefore is the boss, especially when you pay him the most and pay for his cars, houses, and luxurys. JMM is the boss.

Different situations. Khan-Pac was never really forseen to happen. JMM-Maidan is a HUGE possibilty.

Nacho ****ed up plain and simple. He feared getting FIRED so he complied with his bosses wishes.

so who pays the trainer ???

think about that one for a bit....also, think about the father/son relationship they have, it's a lot closer than you think...jmm has every right to do what he did...
if anything, nacho pulled a ***** move

But didn't Nacho dump Mares b/c he had the same management as Izzy Vasquez? Loyalty is important to Nacho, he should have known better.

    JMM does.

And if JMM didn't tell Maidana to leave, Maidana would be paying Nacho aswell.

So, Marquez is actually stopping Nacho from earning Money.

I don't understand how he has the right.

Marquez pays him, yes. So would have Maidana.

Yes, he could have been a potential opponent, but Nacho could have said to Maidana "If Marquez and you end up fighting, I will have to go with Marquez" could he not?

I'm trying to understand your point, but I find it hard to blame Nacho here.
