"That fight would bring a very substantial purse that benefits everyone involved in the event - and that is something that neither Brandon Rios or Timothy Bradley is able to bring," Beristain said.

Translation: "I will also get the biggest money out of the PAC fight"

Nacho's a smart fellow. He knows Juan would get the most money BY FAR from a 5th fight with Manny. Rios and Alvarado don't bring in much money, and Bradley can't sell out a garage in Palm Springs.

Juan would destroy Rios, Bradley, or Alvarado. There's more of a risk in another go with Pacquiao, but no matter what happens in a 5th fight, Juan would still get a lot more money from that then he'd get from fighting anyone else. At this stage of his career, Juan's not in it for moderate purses against non-Megastars. At 40 and beyond, why should you stick around for modest pay against lesser known guys when you have another huge payday hanging around?

Nacho is 100% right. Rios and Bradley aren't future ATGs or anything, and neither looked too good in their last fights. It doesn't seem to make any sense to bypass Pacquiao for either of those guys.

Don't ruin this for me Nacho. Don't.

But if we do talk money, let's say a Marquez-Bradley PPV with a stacked card brings in, what, 600,000 buys? At 50 dollars a PPV that's 30 million to split. Even if Bob were to take 10 for his own greedy self, that's about 9 for each assuming they split it even and the under-card fighters draw from the PPV pot indirectly through Top Rank payrolls.

That's already a higher number than Marquez has ever gotten, about twice what he got from Manny, and he gets to go for his 5th title. Not a bad deal IMO.

Check your math. The distributor generally takes 50% of the PPV revenue. So that would be $15M if they did 600k. However, Marquez-Bradley probably tops out at around 400k. I'd be surprised if Marquez fought Bradley.

He has Pac kryptonite. Why risk a loss to anyone else and drop his stock at the negotiating table.. They have a classic legendary rivalry 4 classic fights between two Atg fighters. Fans will be watching these fights in fifty years.. Why not add another instant classic

Unfortunately for Marquez, he can't crack 500,000 buys with anyone other than Manny or Floyd. Bradley is an anti-draw.

Besides, we both know Arum is too greedy to stack an in-house card or co-promote to generate buys to cover for the fact Bradley's not a draw.

The only way JMM-Bradley breaks 500K buys is if you hold it in September and somehow get Chavez-Martinez II and Garcia-JuanMa on the undercard.

    1) Marquez would take the lions share over Bradley. Bradley turned down 2.4 mil to fight Lamont Peterson in Dec. He took less than 2 to fight Provodnikov.

    2) Marquez made 6 million for his fourth fight with Pacquiao.

If Manny made 25 million for it which I've read, let's use that 31 million total for the fifth fight. I would say the split should be 19/12 Pac/JMM.

Nacho is just calling it like it is. Who's Manny going to fight? Now that Alvarado as decided to use more boxing against Rios, you can count that as another Rios loss in the 3rd fight. How is Bob going to market that. 2 losers looking for redemption...

Then there's Bradley. Nuff said. JMM is still Manny's best option. So Nacho is just trying to limit the bull****.
