Dominican in the house! My boy Aguilera gets his first big win against Maskaev today in Sacramento by spectacular 1st round KO. I knew he could do it! Maskaev was KD twice before the ref waved it off.:smoke

Maskaev's chin has been reduced down to nothing at this point of his career. (Not like he ever had much of a chin anyway) Time to hang them up old timer.

I had a feeling Aguilera would beat him. The kid is still learning, but, he has power. Oleg looked like shite his last fight, slow and old.

Haven't seen it, but don't go crowning Nagy just yet. He's looked less than ordinary so far, and for Maskaev to get napalmed like that he's obviously pretty well used up.

This "name" win needs to be taken with an even bigger grain of salt than Solis' over Barrett.

When Sam Peters fought him, Maskaev was a really good HW. But now Maskaev is shop worn and old. After the Nigerian nightmare knocked him out, he was damaged goods actually.

I think it is time for retirement for Maskaev

Aguilera is of very low stock, IMO. He would get outworked and probably knocked out by someone on Solis' level (and I don't think Solis has panned out to be quite the pro he was touted as). Nagy getting within sniffing distance of a title would be absolutely shocking (and a wretched commentary on the state of the division). This just solidifies how deep the fork is stuck in Oleg.

It's still too early. He is young and raw. Oleg was already past-it. But, the kid has demonstrated that he has power. He just needs a good trainer, that is all.

He would have to work hard to get within sniffing distance of the title. IMO, this is now an excellent division. WladKlit, Vitklit, Haye, Povetkin, Chambers, in the first tier, Adamek, Soilis, Boytsov on deck, Peter, TUA, and Arreola on the rebound, Chagaev, Ibragimov and Valuev if they want it, and Helenius and this phenom Pulev ascending rapidly. Thow in Ruiz, Virchis, Audley, Sexton, Chisora, Ustinov, Pianeta... Man, this is going to be a great division. Great.

Other than Ustinov, that is actually a pretty exciting list. :good

And they'd all KO Nagy. Even Ustinov. :yep

Last time out you noted that I mentioned Ustinov over Kingpin. Let me be clear that I like Johnson a lot, its just that I don't give him much shot agaisnt Vitali, so his future is kind of up in the air.

I do think, however, that it is going to be a better fight than most people expect. But short of one of Vitali's injuries, I just see the big man walking him down.
