Have you seen Aguilera fight live? I didn't see any films of his fights on the Internet. I was wondering what Maskaev's managers could have known about Aguilera.

If it's true that Aguilera has any kind of power at all, why did Rappaport risk Oleg's future by making this match? Everyone knows Oleg is chinny, and if caught cold, can be upset by lesser guys.

I always thought Maskaev was poorly handled and better than given credit for. I also thought he had more in him. Oh well. Tough break.

The back surgery did him in.

I like Maskaev but he should have retired after the Peter bout. Even in the HW division you don't do anything with his killer combination of snail speed, age and china chin.

Maskaev is a 40 year old who has been KOed a half dozen times.

Aguilera has a recognizable name on his resume now, but truthfully, I would have been more impressed with a decent win over an up and comer instead of a former beltholder who was staying around too long. Aguilera can get a bigger paycheck for his next fight at least.

    Good.

I like Oleg but now we can be done, hopefully, with the farce of a potential Maskaev-Vitali mismatch.

I hear you but I wouldn't have minded the fight if it had happened because it had at least a little interesting history there from the amateurs.

Maskaev must be as far over the hill as you can be as a totally shot fighter losing to an unheralded and totally unknown journeyman whose fight record looks less than stellar.
I guess Nagy is nothing special, just the right guy at the right time at the right place.

I am glad that Maskaev vs Austin is now off!

Maskaev didnt deserve an eliminator fight, and neither does Austin(damn! this guy got a gift decision over Fields, and looked like a complete bum against Klitschko).

Two of the young guns-like Solis and Boytsov-should get the chance to get a shot at Vitaly!:good
