They were so keen on doing Vitali-Maskaev in Moscow, for years now, because it would've made some serious coin. Would not have been much of a fight but the money would've been very good, amateur win for Maskaev pumping that up and so on.

Looks like that's finally been killed for good, and Maskaev's career too. Agreed that he should've packed it in after the Peter loss, and really most people had been saying that for quite some time too.

You are right, damon! They could have made tons of bucks in Moscow.Lost opportunity!!!:-((

The Klitschko's native Ukraine is a very poor country, and so are quite a few parts of Russia, but Moscow is a different dimension.
Russia's capital is one of the richest cities on this globe.
Besides Maskaev keeps claiming that he knocked Vitaly out at the amateurs.
Maskaev vs Vitaly could have easily been sold to the world wide markets,a financially outstandingly attractive fight.
    Lost opportunity!:-(

"They" in like Maskaev's people? Because Vitali made it perfectly clear more than once that he doesn't want to waste his time with Maskaev since he lost his belt. And I don't think a fight against Maskaev in Moscow would really be a big moneymaker at least for Klitschko standards. Sure, it would raise some interest in Russia but in the rest of the world? I don't think so. A major part of the money generated from a fight comes from selling the broadcasting rights to foreign TVstations. You can forget about selling that fight to American TV for starters.

Moscow is the worlds biggest shithole. 3 oil billionaires doesn't make somewhere rich.

Thanks for the video and all, but it seems to be about a flock of birds, 500, 000 strong, no less.

I little too harsh on Oleg, maybe give him some credit for coming back from 6 of those KOs. The guy did win a Heavyweight belt and made millions of dollars. He just got old, as we all do.

Nice shots. I do feel sorry for Maskev though. Hew was one of my favorite fighters. I hope he retires after this one.
