For the few that might have seen this how did you score it? Quite difficult with Naito's unorthodoxy and all kinds of crazy shots winged in versus the more precise work of the Thai. Very good fight. [yt]qPIojd_O0FM[/yt] [yt]FqZJleBsuN8[/yt] [yt]bspbb60PlcA[/yt] [yt]se559cVWlDU[/yt]
Yo, Naito... what the hell... haha.. Unlike other "unorthodox" fighters, where I can't understand how those punches land, I could see here how he was able to score. Like every punch and movement was like a feign almost. Ridiculous.
Yes, there is a definite method to his madness. Remember, this is the guy thatgot KO'd the quickest ever in a flyweight bout by Wonjong. And then comprehensively outclassed losing every round but one before being stopped on a cut. Yet he comes back in the third fight, it was sheer heart and will, throwing hundreds of punches and outpointing him. I think some of those shots must be difficult to see coming. Now this. Judge for yourselves.
68-66 Wonjongkam going into the 8th now. Very difficult to score though, I don't know whether it's the videos or my computer but it's very jumpy and hard to see whether punches are landing. Pretty much all the of the rounds have been close though. Naito missing a lot, but looks diffcult to hit clean. Very unorthodox, his stance, his left hook particularly to the body, bouncy around, doesn't appear to ever set his right up of the jab, always throws it as a lead.
:huh Should Pong have been ruled as knocked down early in the 2nd? Body shot, he grabs the ropes to keep his legs...
Ah bollocks. :-( Well, I had Wonjongkham 68-66 up going into the 8th as I said, very close fight, but I favoured his cleaner work, he made Naito miss a lot and looked to land some good shots (as I said, couldn't really see, was very jumpy), Naito looks very awkward and tough to hit clean though, despite his wild shots. You'd think he'd be easy to counter punch, but he's very quick on his feet, bouncy, pretty decent upper body movement, he seems like he looks to move quickly after missing a shot, he backs away and then regroups and looks to attack again, or throws another shot or 2 after to try and put his opponent off the counter. He started round 8 well, but 1:30 was missing.
Difficult to say. I missed it originally, he did grap it for a split second, I don't think he was hurt at all, just put off balance, but I do think if he didn't grab the ropes, his right hand would of touched the canvas.
If he tried to keep his balance, I think he could of back-pedalled and bounced of the ropes. But the fact he instinctively grabbed the top rope moments after back-pedalling, I think if he didn't he would of instinctively touched down with his right hand to keep himself up.
