I thought Loma did enough to draw, even though I had it 115-113 Lopez, the 2nd round was close. Those first 5 rounds were not a rout, it was basically Loma not throwing punches, giving them away. The only reason Loma was so cautious is because he feared the power of Lopez, he will not fear the power of Nakatani, nor does he have a reason to. After all, what do we know about the power of Nakatani? It's enough to KO Verdejo, which means it's roughly on the level of Antonio Lozada's, that is all. Could you imagine what Lopez and Loma would do to Verdejo? It would be gruesome.... I'd love to see it. Nakatani had issues with Verdejo's speed and explosiveness early, whereas he was dealing with a more cautious Lopez, who clearly fears he's packing glass. Also his awkwardness caused Lopez, who is quite basic, to keep his hands at home a lot more than usual. Lomachenko ONLY gave up those first 5 rounds easily, because of the fear of Lopez's power, nothing more. Had Lopez been just a little more featherfisted, Loma would have walked through him. But Loma gambled, waited for his power to wane, didn't want to over exert his shoulder, and tried to close strong and stop Lopez late. It was a bone headed strategy that failed magnificently. Loma has seen every style imaginable, Nakatani and his reach advantage and size will not pose Loma any problems whatsoever. He'll be able to easily get inside of that reach, with his exemplary footwork, work his body and clock him with hooks up top, dismantle and stop him with relative ease. If I'm wrong... I'm wrong, oh well. But I doubt I will be.
Exactly. I love Nakatani, picked him to upset Verdejo, but he had me shitting bricks that match for the first 5 rounds. He looked incredibly fragile. Lucky for him, Verdejo is and will always be incredible fragile. Loma isn't fragile mentally or emotionally, and physically, he's pretty sturdy other than the fact that he's injury prone. He won't gas, he won't let up, he won' give Nakatani a second to breath, and when he hurts him, most likely early, he'll stay hurt until the ref stops it.
THat's my only concern here, but he took almost 6 rounds off of Lopez, even with a bad shoulder, so I still think that won't be enough, unless his Achilles tendon tears off the bone midfight, or something bat**** crazy like that.
Korobov had a very extensive albeit shorter amateur career than Loma and his body fell apart on him in back to back fights and they were both completely different injuries and he sustained both those injuries in the early rounds too. Loma suffered a very serious shoulder injury in round 2 of his lightweight debut against Linares, against his surgeon's advice jumped straight back into a unification match up with the excellent Pedraza just seven months later when he wasn't close to 100% and didn't even start throwing his right hook until round 9 IIRC, busted his hand in his next fight against Crolla and then his shoulder went again before the Lopez fight. That means his only fight at 135 where he wasn't carrying an injury, didn't injure himself or wasn't compromised by injury is Campbell. I'm a pessimist so I'm half expecting him to injure himself again Interestingly, Nakatani said Verdejo hits harder than Lopez This content is protected
Which goes to show, just how Godly Lisus-chenko truly is. Not sure about that, I think it was just the flushness and the speed of Verdejo's punches that made it seem harder, whereas Lopez's shots were slower and easier to evade, Nakatani rode with most of them, and even when he was hit flush, at that point Lopez was being cautious and not fully sitting down on them. But, he could've already weighed all that stuff out in his head and be right.
No doubt. He's a magician but I really wish he'd 1. Turned pro 4 years earlier and 2. moved back down in weight after winning a title at 135. Yeah maybe but lying is actually illegal in Japan so I'm going to take him on his word lol. There are different types of power too though.
Salido was a second pro opponent and he almost shitted his pants from Lomas bodyshots in later rounds, i dont think we can use it as measuring stick. Nakatani's slow speed and big upper body looks appetizing for Loma. I am not a gambler, but i would still put little money on japanese, because of good odds and Loma's injury.
Well, Nakatani was a live dog until the bell rang for rd. 1, afterwhich he was molded into a punching bag by Loma.
Hahahaha all the haters coming back....Nobody claims the wisdom to be eaten with spoons, so it's a normal thing being WRONG with some stuff. Everyone who is acting like a loud mouth join the Prediction league and challenge me. I'll beat you with ease. We'll see who "DKSAB"....
