Garcia wasted so much energy trying to throw bombs and then missing. Whoever coaches him in striking needs to get slapped in the face. I don't understand people throwing haymakers from outside. Against a pro fighter, those almost never land unless you're really lucky.
I can't even believe that there are people out there that agree with the decision. I have no bias or emotional ties to either fighter, and it is crystal clear that the decision was absurd.
it still is the worst robbery ive seen personally in mma or boxing so for that it makes me lean towards corruption
I'm doing a U-turn here I've just seen compustrike statistics.at the time I didn't think he was robbed but the numbers are pretty amazing. Inside the Numbers: Phan outlanded Garcia 122-66 in total strikes, 61-39 in total power strikes but the judges saw something different. Phan outlanded Garcia in every round, including 46-15 in round 2. http://www.compustrike.com/stats_files/ufc_tuf12/Phan-Garcia.HTM
I don't want to be rude, but it took you compustrike number to realise that Nam was more active and destroyed Garcia on the feet ? Just watching the fight wasn't enough ? This is honestly the worst robbery I've seen in MMA....
back in nam this one ho from saigone (i dont mean hooker..well she was....but i mostly just mean ho as in her name was ho) use to give me a awesome nam phan screwjob for only 5 dollars.
The thing is Nam looked a little too polite. Garcia had great acting skills. He looking like he was puting so much into his punches he was flying of balance . His facial expression, constant forward motion.
i don't know if it has been mentioned but phan still got a win bonus on top of his basic and also fight of the night!
I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but here is the bottom line IMO 1. MMA lacks a standard scoring system that works 2. Dana fixes the scoring to push fighters to make exciting fights/go for KO's 3. UFC = WWE as far as administration/organization goes. Sucks for honest fighters putting in hard work.
