Well it wouldn't make sense to pay off the judges to have a Nam loss then pay Nam 60K on the basis that he should have won the fight. Now does it?
I just mentioned this too, I was listening to Dana White yesterday who's creaming at the thought of taking the UFC to Toronto and he said he too was pissed off with the judging on that fight. I was too and personally thought Nam pitched a shut out.
i just dont understand how people get behind the judging in that fight i personally was absolutely shocked when i heard the result & i still am after watching it again & again **** even garcia was shocked people like james4210 dont know what there talking about
I thought Nam won the fight definitely, but overall...I'm not buying into the "Nam Phan hype train" Over and over during the show, they kept telling us about the amazing skills of Nam Phan. Then he would get in the cage and look like a deer in the headlights IMO. Backing up constantly, looking like he is one of these guys who fights "not to lose" rather than ever take a chance and really go for it. His striking/boxing skills seem ok but that's about it IMO
Not to mention the amount of damage it did in terms of reputation. The Zuffa conspiracy people are nutty as a fruitcake.
You really don't know what you're talking about. I've been watching this sport since before it was called MMA. I watched the first UFC live and watched the early Prides on Japanese bootlegs that were four hours long with all Japanese commentary. I have been through the years when you couldn't even order the PPVs on cable and could only get UFCs, Pride or Brazilian Vale Tudo by trading bootleg tapes with other fans online. So my opinion comes from one honed by years of watching no-holds barred events. I've followed the origins of the sport since long before Zuffa came along and helped shape it into the sport of MMA as we know it today. You are welcome to refute my statements but it is unwise to make generalizations about people that you know nothing about.
i have a new role model today who could have know that an individual such as yourself existed i feel so inferior compared to your greater skill in trying to pass a mere opinion as a low attempt to overindulge yourself in the art of bragging
i think Nam won but i don't think it was as insane as people thought. Garcia was throwing big and those shots should be scored highly if you think they landed or did damage. poor result but there have been some much worse.
Although this is on a different topic, I was wondering which ones of the TUF12 contestants have the best chances of becoming a champion in the near future?
Michael Johnson & Nam Phan. That Brooks guy was pretty good too. The funny thing is Nam is now more popular since getting robbed, I think the fans pity a guy who clearly won & lost a very questionable decision. He's my pick of the bunch to go the furthest in the sport.
:deal Thanks. I agree with what you said. I'm also surprised at how Marc Stevens turned out. I guess he's just another athletic wrestler who needs to work hard on his submission defense, among many other things.
