No,I never made the claim that an ATG has to beat a fellow ATG.The point is if they do beat Holyfield he is an ATG win on their resume no matter how shot.

 

there is little point in beating a shot atg, holmes beat ali, that doesnt impress anyone at that point and shouldnt add much to his legacy, same with ali beating moore, what is better wlad beating haye or holy now? just because holyfield is a atg doesnt make him a better win at this point.
wins over prime atg at their weightclasses are very impressive though, like duran vs leonard in montreal.

 

He retired after the Vitali fight. They never had a chance to fight him so it doesnt really count

There aren't any, so they haven't beat any, but that isn't the absolute criteria for ATG status.

 

I didnt mean you personally, I just consider a win over a prime hof boxer > win over a atg thats way paast it, khan beating bradley would eventually impress me much more than his victory over barrera.

 

You see, Lewis peaked in his 30's unlike Ali and Holmes. He was still very game for the Klitschko fight. It wasn't like he was shot to **** like Ali, or well over the hill like Holmes.

As for the thread, there hasn't been a proper ATG at heavyweight (besides the two brothers themselves) for them to beat. Sure there was Lewis, but it's not Vitali's fault that his skin cuts easily.

Lewis was at his peak when he demolished Razor Ruddock in 1992' (who went 12 rounds with a prime tyson a year earlier).

Lewis faught Klitschko in 2003. Past it. Not shot to ****. But still past it. And he still won.

 

vitali had his chance, he blew it. Couldnt beat a fat, old, poorly conditioned Lewis.

His fanboys can complain all they like about the stoppage, but they'd be complaining even more if he went blind.

IMO Lewis was at his best in the late 90s..Tyson wasnt prime when he went 12 with Razor,Mike had been destroyed by Buster a year before.
