If Ali was in this era and K2 weren't around would it make him any less of a fighter? No.
Where he would suffer is ATG placing and mythical P4P match ups, that can't be denied.

I think that it's rather obvious Lennox Lewis peaked later in his life than Tyson and Holyfield. Holyfield was clearly past it when Lewis beat him (went on directly after to have the worst trilogy in history with Ruiz ffs), and Mike Tyson was a shell of Mike Tyson's shell when he fought Lewis. Neither wins means anything as far as a prime vs prime matchup. Lewis didn't become the champ until all of the other stars in his era had beat each other up and burned out. That's reality.

Botha - Fresh off of getting brutally knocked out by Mike Tyson.

Rahman - knocks Lewis out, then Lewis knocks Rahman out to regain his titles.

Tyson - Do I even need to say?

Klitschko - Losing on all cards, wins on a cut from a grazing punch.

Lewis then retires 8 months later after trying to sue Mike Tyson into the ring, and upon word from the WBC that he must either fight Vitali Klitschko again or be stripped of his only remaining title. Which brings us to the fact that Lewis dropped his other 2 titles as well to avoid fighting his #1 contenders.

What an amazing reign as Champ. Surely just as dominant as Wladimir Klitschko's has been.:nut

 

You didn't answer the question, just like the other fool. If Lewis was winning over Vitali and his foot slipped through the ropes, breaking it, would you be saying Vitali won and theres no need for a rematch??

 

No it's not reality at all.

Lewis became CHAMP in 1992. When he was supposed to fight the winner of Holyfield and Bowe. But neither of them wanted it. Bowe beat Holyfield and in the eyes of everybody became the champ....... then he put his belt in the trash. Refusing to fight Lewis. Because he seen what Lewis did to Razor Ruddock, and remembered what happened to him when he faught Lewis as an amateur.

The American promoters tried to protect their fighters for years. Lewis wanted it then.

 

Wlad is an atg heavyweight for sure.
Nearly 6 years of dominance.

It doesn't matter if he's beat a great fighter himself.

Which atg heavyweight did sullivan beat and he founded the whole damn lineage.

Wlad has beaten a whole host of top ten opponents since lewis retired. He's been on top for a while.

If haye beats him we'll say haye beat an atg.

 

Lewis was handed a title then.... was knocked out.... then was handed back that title a few years later by way of fighting for the vacant title against McCall who didn't even fight... and was fresh out of rehab for crack. Which is why that title meant NOTHING, and Lewis was not considered the Recognized Champ until after he beat Holyfield.

BTW, Lewis is the one who ruined it for himself. Lewis turned down 13.5 Million to fight Tyson, and instead chose to take 4 mil in step aside money to let Tyson fight Seldon. That is nobodies fought but Lewis'. If he wanted that fight, he would have taken it.
