It wasnt an ACCIDENT!! He got injured from being punched in the face in a boxing match! Its COMPLETELY different from slipping through the ropes!

    Its NOT the same thing.

Thats like saying its not Lewis's fault he got beaten by Rahman,as he had no control over losing consciouness after being punched!

Chavez beat an array of very good fighters though, the klitschkos you can't say the same for. they have beat garbage. not their fault though.

Chavez beat Ramirez, Rosario, Camcho, Taylor, Haugen, Mayweather, and others.

Did you really just cut out the part where I pointed out the FACT that Lewis is the one who turned down 13.5 million to fight Tyson?

Are you saying that Lewis didn't turn down 13.5 Million to fight Tyson BEFORE accepting the 4 mil in step-aside money?:deal

Everyone and their mother INCLUDING Lewis knew that after Lewis turned down the Tyson fight and accepted the money, that Tyson was going to fight Holyfield after Seldon. That was the fight that everyone wanted to see. It was the biggest fight out there.

Lewis put himself on the backburner by turning down the fight and accepting the step aside money instead. If Lewis really wanted that fight it was there to take. If Lewis had beat Tyson as that point than he stood to make a ton of money in the rematch, and then the entire division would have ran through him. It would have been his big showdown with Holyfield instead of Tyson's.

No, cuts are a part of boxing, It dosen't mean a fighter is a poor boxer because he got a cut, Ali rematched every guy that cut in his fights. And back then fans demanded it, not like today with fans scared for their hero to be exposed..

For those who want a good laugh here's the article in question:

The World Boxing Council wants Tyson to defend against Lennox Lewis of England, a former champion and now its No. 1 contender. Lewis turned down a $13.5 million guarantee to fight Tyson. Lewis then accepted $4 million from King to step aside and allow Tyson to fight Seldon, with the proviso that Tyson, assuming he beat Seldon, would fight Lewis next. Tyson is expected to receive $30 million for fighting Seldon.

Now Lewis's handlers say they will guarantee Tyson $45 million to fight Lewis, but Tyson seems more interested in fighting Evander Holyfield, a former champion. If Tyson bypasses Lewis, the W.B.C. will strip Tyson of his title for refusing to fight its top-ranked contender. It would then match Lewis and Oliver McCall, its second-ranked contender, for the vacant title. If all those things happened, the next big fight would probably be the Lewis-McCall winner against -- who else? -- Tyson.

How did he have the chance to? Lennox was starting to take over the fight, and to be honest the stoppage saved Vitali's eyesight. It was a mercy stoppage and after the passage of time, a good way for Lewis to go out with a big win! :good
