Neither Klitschko has beaten an all-time great at any stage of their careers. And unless something remarkable happens, they probably won't by the time they retire.

That said, Wlad has done a pretty good job of cleaning out the heavyweight division that currently exists, and his brother has done an equally good job of defeating anyone he happens to miss.

I've never really been a fan of the Klitschko brothers, but some things are just beyond a fighters control.

i have seen a lot of ppl use this footage from different angles at different speeds to show a punch butt thumb glove tape making the cut

im a huge fan of the brothers and was a big fan of lennox though i rooted for vitali that night

as much as i wish the cut never happened and the fight went on and we got a conclusive winner i have come to the grips with what really happened

vitali was ahead 4-2 after 6 rounds and was stopped by a bad cut he vindicated himself for quitting against byrd by showing toughness vs lewis

he earned americas respect something he has lost in his comeback for reasons i cant comprehend

but it was a punch and a fair ruling

even if the fist didnt cause the cut the punch was thrown some part of the glove landed it wasnt intentional from my viewing incidental

    fair ruling

i mean vitali put on a great show got the respect he deserved became champ eventually

lewis though being out of shape and behind came back and got to keep his title and retired at the right time

i mean this era thing is luck or even unluck of the draw

and your right it is out of their control

they arrived in a transitional era

i mean lewis when he hit the scene had greats around him Holyfield, tyson, bowe, foreman, holmes still lingering

wlad had no established greats still around to beat

but he beat byrd the best guy with a belt and continues to beat whoever he can

Good post bud. It's refreshing to see an honest and balanced view on this subject. Few and far between with all the fanaticals in here.

My thoughts exactly. I ain't talked about it for ages, but i feel sometimes you have to counter-balance what the idiots are spouting.
If you fancy something new go in the classic for educated opinions and good conversation from experienced posters. If you have'nt been in there already that is.
    Respect.

That's a clear picture of the thumb going into the eye. Lewis knew he was losing the fight so he decided to cut a few corners hoping it would not get noticed.

Nah, these were just Lewis nuthuggers venting. For some reason it makes them angry.

Not judging by that post. He's making a directly relevant and accurate point.

There haven't been any ATG fighters for the K brothers to beat, and the only time a K bro got in the ring with an ATG in Lewis, he was going to get KTFO if the fight hadn't been stopped.

However, they have absolutely and totally cleaned out the division and KEPT it cleaned out for a looong time. What more can you ask of a champ than for him to whip everyone there is to whip at the time he's the champion? I would put the K brothers behind Tyson, Lewis etc but ahead of Holmes, Marciano and the like.

It's impossible to debate with a man who disputes the evidence before his own eyes and would say black is white and white is black. I will just console myself with the fact the history books state Vitali lost to Lewis and that must **** you off no end.

    Good day.
