    The indisputable example is Byrd.

But I'm sure you already know this.

I'm sure you've got a retort already planned despite the fact that Byrd was ranked and was good enough.

Pacquiao is my favorite fighter. And some time around the Clottey, Margarito, Mosley fights something just started to change. For some reason that vicious killer instinct just started to fade. Pacquiao to me was always an energizer bunny, no mercy, punch them hard until they drop. When that changed it really sucked.

He was never a boxer-puncher. More of a volume, accumulation fighter. And whether it was age, blowing up in weight or lack of hunger he changed his style I don't know. But when he turned into a boxer-puncher it annoyed me.

Are you suggesting that Eubank should have retired after his second loss to Steve Collins when he just turned 29 years of age?

I agree with Pacman's focus, but I don't blame him for that after achieving so much.

And again, Froch was 37 years of age. A decent age to retire at
    Super-Middleweight.

Maybe you have these problems with them. But I honestly don't.

Very true .I would add bomber Graham staying in Sheffield.should have fought in the states.and benn waiting till he was shot before he fought Collins.plus lang going missing after beating Duran.

It's not so much the age that they retire. It's their career path. Froch didn't reach the big time until he was 31 and fought Pascal.

I'd have loved my hero to have been the best in the world.

    Just wasn't to be.

Not major disappointments to be sure but if you are calling them your faves they are things meriting consideration.

Cashout!! He didn't get paid well during the real thick of his prime, can't blame him for duping the boxing world and fans there and grabbing a big slice of pie to go.

Yeah I know, but it was so sad to see him go out like that, it rivals Vasquez and Chavez's swan songs.:-(
