He still BEAT more of the top 10 than anyone else over the past few years.

Only guy who beat more from the Ring top 5 is Kessler, but he also has been part of the top for longer. Over the recent few years noone has beaten more than Froch.

 

FFS...... It's amazing to me the lengths that some Calzaghe fans will go to bolster their guy.

Froh hasn't passed Calzaghe in terms of historical SMW achievement. He wouldn't win a h2h matchup with Joe either.

But what he did do is test his own limits and consistently take on the best competition of his era. By doing that he found his ceiling, which isn't/wasn't as high.

What I don't really understand is why people would bash a guy who is good for the sport, takes on the best comp, home or away, has consistently given us quality efforts and exciting fights, in a strong division which has never been more relevant worldwide.

Why they would do this in favor o a guy who basically stood up and knocked over wbo mandatories for a decade is beyond me. The point is not to bash Calzaghe, but people should at least appreciate Froch's warrior spirit, if nothing else.

 

By the way... I just saw clips from the fight and watching Froch in that fight reminded me of when Marciano got in wars. He would happily trade and trusted his own chin, precision and power.
