The more I asses the Kbros skills and stack them up I think they would be average fighters in most of the earlier eras. When their fans suggest that they are ATG, GOAT, unbeatable H2H or list fighters who could beat them it leaves them wide open for hate. I always respected the Kbros and their skill but when you hear half the **** that is on these boards you tend to pile on or enter into a MOB mentality. THE BEST THING FOR VK NUTTHUGGERS IS TO STFU and let his in ring skill speak for itself. Too many peeps on here remember when the heavyweight division was not total crap that they will not be swayed by the fact that the bros are dominate right now. I was neutral on the Bros for the longest time but right now I am hoping that someone, anyone will beat them to stop the insanity that is going on on this board. They are the solid fighters and best by far right now . . . nothing more nothing less. Stop trying to comparing them to the legends of the sport because they would have only been contenders back then.
Yeah, I do agree about that. If Vitaly has aged, and is looking every day of his 38, it's unfair to compare him to the very best version of other fighters. Thing is........last fight out, his fans were as vocal as ever about how brilliant Vitlay was, and still is. But now, he's old? Can't have it both ways. The difficulty with Vitaly is. What was his prime? Fighting B level fighters before Lewis? Losing to Lewis? Cleaning up old fat guys, or fat guys, before his retirement? His comeback fights, when now he's old but a few months ago he wasn't? Yep I agree, but's that the same for all fighters. Lewis was 35 when he got sparked by Rahman, and 37 when he struggled with, but still ultimately pounded, Vitlay. But that doesn't seem to count. The Rahman KO is used (along with the McCall one of course - but that was a TKO - so according to some K Bros fans, that's not really a KO loss at all....) to show Lewis is chinny. But he was 35? Doesn't that count? Nope. Pretty much agree. Vitlay should keep going until he loses, or he gets a scare from somebody he thinks he would have beat a lot easier a few years ago. And then - boy will I have fun with Vitlay nutswingers, announcing that so and so 'retired' Vitlay, just like they have gone onandonandonandon about Vitlay and Lewis. My opinion, i don't actually mind Vitlay or Wlad at all. I think they're the best 2 fighters in a truly **** division. I just can't stand the blind moronic fans.
:good Good post, i pretty much agree with what your saying, and i too see the double standard in a lot of it (issues regarding lewis and vitali).
No offence Kirk mate, but having all of your posts regarding this thread, perhaps you to ought to consider objectivity. A peak Vitali is imo around the 9-11 ATG heavyweight mark, so imo (Which only counts for anything in my house) he is a bone fide great. One thing is for sure, both he and his brother have been fantastic ambassadors for the sport and I shudder to imagine what the heavyweight scene for this decade would have been like without them!!!
Pointless exercise. Nobody can prove that anyone would beat him and you can't prove that they won't. This thread will just become a bitching session with no facts, all opinions. ...Maybe it already has, I can't be bothered reading it. All I will say is, ask yourself when exactly Vitali's "prime" was, and who did he beat in that time to make you think he would win against any of the ATG's listed.
Vitali is utterly overrated. I'm not hating here, he just is. Yes he is big, and this is a big advantage against the small, poor opposition he has fought his whole career. The fact is he is just hard to fight, you cant box him easily because he leans back and has that long pawing jab and right hand. If you try to walk him down, you are gonna get hit with those, and because of his size and lean back style he is hard to find...but thats the only way for smaller fighters to chase the fight, cause they cant stay on the outside and get any joy. But do you really think this is going to stump the likes of Lewis, Tyson, Ali? Pur-lease. Skillwise he is very, very basic. Poor really. It is difficult to see him losiung to a lot of fighters, admittedly, but thi guy is so far from unbeatable its not even funny. Ali would dance rings around him. Foreman would have little trouble putting him away. Holmes would be too skilled. Lewis already beat him. Holyfield is a class above, too fast, too skilled. Look at Bowe fights if you dont think he could get inside on Vitali. Bowe is simply too good. Tyson is way too fast and powerful. Would have to fight smart, but he would get a TKO. All these figters are classes above Vitlali. Yes, syylistically its hard too see him get beat, but against C level opposition. Good fighter, but based almost entirely on size.
