Byrd beat him get over it,Vitali ran out of gas and was getting backed up, he quit becaue hwas dead tired and there was a decent shot of him getting stopped by being so exausted. Nothing to be ashamed of but his fans sound like the same retarrds who said Wlad was drugged against Brewster.
And the majority of people rank Lewis above Vitali. There wasnt anyone else in the world that would have beat Lewis that night either out of shape or not. That argument is only valid if you are trying to rank Vitali ahead of Lewis all time which isnt the case here. People are not giving Vitali his due out of pure hate and they are bitching about his performance at 38 and just because Lewis may have been a better fighter at 37 than Vitali is now doesnt mean Vitali isnt a good fighter especially because Lewis is the only heavyweight you can even name that was better than Vitali at the same age.
I could bring George Foreman into the discussion if you like? Better than VITLAY from the age of 23-44 :yep It's not pure hate, it's pure frustration at the **** that some of the Klit-ites come out with. Sure VITLAY is good for a 38 year old, just like he was good for a run of the mill defense against Lewis when he was 33. Note the use of the word 'good', not 'great'?
So let me understand this, you would find it 'likely' that Byrd beats Vitali if they fought again, and again, and again? To use the term likely, is saying the outcome is 'probable', so you honestly, hating aside, think that the 'likely' outcome of Vitali vs Byrd is a Byrd win? meaning if they fought 10 times, you think Byrd would come out victorious at least 6 of those times? really? same with Tua? I think that you bring up decent points, and i agree with some of them, but your being a bit irrational just in my opinion. Do you also think it likely that rahman would beat lennox lewis? Im just curious
Ive got a question for you, do you rank Vitali in the top 20 of all time at heavyweight, eather through resume, or h2h (meaning you would comfortably choose 20 fighters that rank ahead of him, and also 20 fighters that would beat him h2h) honest question im truly curious.
Rahman. See earlier post. I think Wlad would have too. If Wlad hit Lewis like Vitaly did in Rd 2, fight's over. Wlad has a few flaws, but power isn't one of them. Yep, Wlad would have melted if hit like Lewis hit Vitlay in Rd 6, but Lewis shouldn't have been standing at that point in time. Lewis (rated as chinny at best on this forum), was prepared to walk through Vitlays punches to land one of his own. At it worked. He tore his face off. Everybody that fight wasn't going to the cards, so why did Vitlay fight like it was? Vitlay lasted a long time, and soaked up a lot of punishment. He put up a very good show. but the tide had turned in that fight, and one man was going backwards in a hurry, and one man was consistently landing big punches. Oh, but I forgot. Lewis sat down on his stool hard, so of course, that means he was about to get KO'd.
Based on what I saw Byrd was on his way to winning the fight, he landed nearly the same amount of punches that Vitali did, and he was coming on very strong while Vitali was out of gas. Vitali has never had great stamina so I think the Tua that KO'd Ruz would be a very dangerous fight for him, provided he came in at a trim 225 I think hewould pose serious problems in the latter half of the fight.
again, whats your point? that another top 10 atg is better then vitali? big deal.... what... that there was a handful of fighters that have been able to compete past age 37 succesfully? I find it amusing that people like to bring up 10-15, hell... even 20 names that may or may not rank ahead of vitali eather h2h or resume, and then use that as reasons to think vitali is not that good. Lets use a bit of objectivity when viewing these things can we? When you can be in the top 50 in a weightclass, throughout all the history of boxing, your not just merely ok, and your a bit more then just good.
