if Frank Bruno had an ounce of talent, he would have been unstoppable...but, unfortunately for the Brits he was awful..Frank Bruno made Audley Harrison look like Lennox Lewis. He makes Lou Savarese look like Mike Tyson!!
this is all people keep bringing up when i say this.... it means nothing to me, personally, because i cant argue for what someone else might have said, i can only say that for my part, and everyone whos opinions ive seen that mean something that i can think of with perhaps a few otherwise good posters who might get a bit fanboyish over that fight, know that that wasnt lewis at his best. Vitali isnt getting a pass, because its the truth... the man is 38, and showing his age. There is a decent chance of that at least in my opinion. I agree, thats natural. Exactly, which is credit to them as fighters, those are also two of the greatest heavyweights of all time.
I think I can think of seven.... Ali Holmes Lewis Foreman 'Prime' Tyson Dempsey Liston I believe Vitali would beat Bowe, Holyfield, Frazier, Marciano, Patterson....
Oiver McCall stopped Lewis! In the rematch McCall came right out of rehab, had a nervous breakdown in the ring, let Lewis land his best shots on him and nothing happened! Rahman knocked Lewis out! Ray Mercer beat the crap out of Lewis. Mavrovich beat the crap out of Lewis. Lewis Stayed away from Tua, could not hurt him. Etc. Vitali staggered Lewis! Lewis' promoter signaled his doctor/ref to stop the fight after Lewis was done for. Watch the fight. Lewis was done for. Lewis' badly broked nose hurt him too badly, so he refused a rematch after giving his word in the ring. Lewis retired rather than fight Vitali ever again. Lewis could not hurt Vitali with his best shots and was holding one for dear life to keep from going down. Vitali would have knocked Lewis out in the 7th round and Lewis knows it. Angelo Dundee said that Vitali was cheated out of the title that night. Watch Lewis get staggered!
No. He has never been clean K.O, Vitali neither hits hard enough or in combinations, to have an easy time stopping Bruno. Bruno had bad ring intelligence and anxiety issues. Watch the Lewis fight, he was still standing afer eating about a 100 punches. Vitali is around top 25 at heavy. Very good fighter but his resume is pretty poor.
Mr. Dio, I'll give you "Holmes and Ali" for sure, but I'm not certain about the rest of them dudes on the list....... deal:bbb MR.BILL Note: Of course we know about the fight with Lenny Lewis in 2003, but I doubt that L.L. can beat Klitschko consistantly in back-to-back fights....... V.K. is no slacker......
youre the biggest ****ing idiot on these boards and no ZERO about the sport. i will just pick on the dumbest thing you said out of the dumb stuff you said " Mavrovich beat the crap out of Lewis." the guy barley won a round against lewis in a horrible effort/fight......that guy was a white kevin johnson
I can name 20 who would beat him easily if they were his size. He is really not a heavyweight, but a superheavyweight. If Holmes were 6-8 and 260 pounds he would stop Vitali in 8 rounds or so.
Eddie Chambers, David Haye, Alexander Povetkin, and Tomasz Adamek is capable of beating Vitali Klitschko right now!!! I don't want to even get into the ATG's.
people need to think carefully with these fantasy H2H. Vitali would be a tough assignment for any of the people named as ATG Heavyweights for a number of reasons: * The guy has a rock chin - anyone who disagrees doesn't know boxing this guy would not get starched early by anyone. With the massive right hands he took off Lewis he should have went down, that didn't happen. * Massive work rate for a heavyweight so hardly drops a round * He is very athletic for his size of 6'8 I am no Vitali fan but chinny Frank Bruno is not walking over Vitali, it isn't happening.
My take on your points. - He does have an excellent chin, I concur. But he hasn't been hit by a QUICK powerful guy, and sometimes that changes things. Tyson and Louis or the only guys I could concivebly see getting Vitali out early. Lewis hit hard, but when he fought Vitali, he didn't have much speed. - He has a massive workrate against C and D level fighters. When fights B and above his workrate is average. - I don't believe he is overly athletic. He's not Primo Carnera for sure, but he isn't going to be able to cut off a ring against an Ali or even a tunney. I agree, he Blows Bruno out. Within 5. Keith
For a former pro fighter you are not exactly a bastion of wisdom and reason. Zelko Mavrovic fought well against Lewis. He worked hard and although I only had him winning two rounds with another even, there were two or three additional rounds that were very competitive that Lewis stole via late rally. You comparing Johnson's effort against Vitaly with Mavrovic's against Lewis is laughable.
