Sanders had Vitali retreating before he inevitably gassed.

Sanders has been extremely overrated, mostly by Klitschko fans for two reasons.

    1) To rationalize Wlads humiliating loss
    2) To elevate Vitali's win.

Sanders spped was slightly above average, and his power was good, but not great.

I'm talking tyson and Joe Louis. Sanders does not fit into that conversation.

No, there is no reasonable doubt that they could beat him. There is your opinion, which as we can see-

    - your opinion counts for ****.

Absolutely. Vitali has never beaten someone of Bruno's calibre and he never managed to go the distance with someone with Bruno's power and jab.

    Lewis
    Bowe
    Holyfield
    Tyson
    Foreman
    Holmes
    Ali

I'd day Golota displayed the skill against Bowe to beat VITLAY but not the mentality. Wlad would probably give him a good fight as well.

Vitali has yet to seperate himself from the the other belt holders, in 04 both Ruiz and Byrd were more accomplished, today Wlad is clearly the best belt holder, and honestly speaking Haye won't be too far behind if he takes care of Ruiz, Vitali is a good fighter but that is all, he has done nothing to be considered Great.

Lets not forget that Sanders was 38 and out of shape but he still hurt Vitali and was doing quite well before he gassed in the 2nd round.

    I'd take the following guys to beat Vitali;

    Ali
    Holmes
    Louis
    Lewis
    Frazier
    Foreman
    Bowe
    Liston
    Tyson

More than 7 but those are just the first guys that came to mind. I'm not saying they would all win easily though - I think Vitali is a handful for any Heavyweight in history, he's far from unbeatable though and I don't think he should be favoured over any of the fighters I mentioned.

:good LOVED the B-Hop counter:). Vitali is now at a similar age to Lewis when they fought. I guess Lennox's stock has just risen!! I do rate Vitali highly. Head to head he would have gave any heavyweight par a "Peak" Ali a serious test, but that doesn't mean that I believe that he would beat them all!! 60's Ali makes Vitali think he's fighting a ghost (Ali U?D or late tko on cuts, Vitali does mark up/cut rather easily!). Mike Tyson would probably also stop him on cuts, Lennox Lewis defeats him (U/D or cuts) as does Larry Holmes. As for some of the other "Greats" (Foreman, Joe Louis, Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier) Vitali has his hands full, big time and could lose to all those guys (We really shouldn't underestimate how great they truly were!) but, conversely he may very well have beaten some of them. As for the rest I guess he would have probably have defeated them. But he would not have had an easy night against Bowe, Holyfield (Who were superb) or any of the other excellent American fighters who would have fought their hearts out (Unlike the crap he has faced for the majority of his career!!). As a result I have him at 9-10, which is pretty good going!! Especially when you consider his resume!! It's not very impressive, is it?

because he is 6'8'' and skillful he is great? nothing against vitali, but didn't we already see a prime vitali giving a past his prime lewis hell, but lose in the process? give it up my friend. to be great, guess what? wait for it... HE HAS TO BEAT A GREAT. not that he can't, but he hasn't, which is not his fault. even if he would of beaten lewis in a rematch, he just wasn't around when holyfield and lewis were in their primes and wouldn't get the credit. it would be similiar like if danny green was to be called the greatest for beating an old roy jones.

this is how i see it. many klit fans laugh at the notion of someone of marcianos caliber not being able to beat a klitscko or even a modern day contender. if a cruiserweight like haye has a real chance to defeat a klitscko, don't you think these smaller heavyweights of yesterday like louis and marciano are closer to modern day cruiserweights in size, but with heavyweight power, would have just as great of chance as haye or even moreso? both louis and marciano, who at times would weigh more like a light heavyweight, would blast opponents weighing 225-235lbs no problem. marciano especially was hittable, but guess what? no one could ever keep him on the canvas. so all of a sudden the klits will? i really don't think so.

another thing. marciano and louis ko's vs. their opposition were not accumalation of punches, like the klits bros. they had power even tua would envy with one punch ko's that would leave the guys stretched. and the stamina these guys had far exceeded any heavyweight todays. i think fighters like marciano and louis would of sensed the klits getting tired and go right for the kill.

    marciano
    louis
    lewis
    bowe
    ali
    frazier
    tyson
