    Nah, he's no Broner.

We always knew Gamboa was gonna end up at 135lbs. He was huge at feather.

Beltran and Burns are big, strong lightweights.

Sanabria and Klimov were taller - and Prescott is way taller and more like a natural welterweight cutting weight for most of his career.

Crawford's jab is not better than Kovalev's jab.

    No way.

Kovalev's jab has SNAP on it. It doesn't make any sense to throw an arm punch jab. Even if you're using it to set up your shots, you should always be prepared to snap it into your opponent at the last moment.

Let me ask you this? What's better landing an arm punch jab or a real jab is an actual weapon?

    Easy answer, right.

Now let me ask you this, why would you throw an arm punch and potentially be countered when you can throw a real jab instead and potentially get countered?

Why waste a shot and get countered with a jab that does no damage if you do land it and may not even be enough to keep your opponent from landing a big shot of his own?

You might as well throw a real punch and if it lands snap your opponent's head back and make him think twice about coming in.

That's the point of a jab from a guy like Crawford's perspective who fights out of the southpaw stance to establish even more distance.

Crawford's defense is his reach and his speed right now.

But wait until he tries that arm punch shlt against a competent guy at 140 who isn't going to be hindered by his size.

We'll see how effective Crawford's jab will be at that point when his opponent turns it against him.

Kovalev, Ward, Mayweather, and even Pacquaio use their jab as a WEAPON.

That's what a jab should be.

Not just a distraction, a point scorer, and a range finder. This isn't the amateurs.

I respect your opinion I just see Crawford panicking when he's in there with someone that's bigger and knows how to fight and comes to win by any means

I'm going to tell you what I like about Crawford.

I like his chin. That's what's going to win him fights because his jab is shlt. Beltran was countering his jab with some serious shots.

We'll see what happens when a guy like Garcia, Matthysse, and Provo counter his jab.

If it wasn't an arm punch, Crawford could use his footwork to beat a lot of these guys, but his punching technique is just not at the level where it needs to be to in order to be an elite fighter.

This guy is going to get in some wars.

You want a guy with a good jab? Cotto has a hell of a jab.

Crawford's jab is an arm punch.

Look who he's fighting why would he ?

Gamboa is his best opponent and frankly he looked two divisions smaller than Crawford and was hurting him

I don't know IB, yeah Crawford's got a really nice jab but I really don't think it's that much better than that of Scott or Chambers...not to mention guys like Cotto, Floyd or Rigo.

This is similar to the thread that was made a few years ago about Tito's left hook. Yes, it was a beautiful left hook that he could set up and land from various angles, but it wasn't that much better that of Cotto, Rocky Juarez or Yori Boy.

My point is that there are a lot of guys that have individual weapons that compare with the elite guys, but it's the variety of weapons that separates them.
