I thought this would be a good way for posters to become more acquainted with certain fighters that they haven't yet had a chance to explore properly. Sometimes, I'll try and look at a fighters career, but the fights I'm looking at aren't reflective of them at their very best and so I will lose interest and consider them mediocre or just good. I expect a lot of fighters to be mentioned in this thread that I've not had a great look at, but by telling us what their best performances are, I'll know which fights to sought after immediately. I suppose this is as subjective as the next thing, so if you disagree with someone's picks for best performances, it's just something else to debate over. Discuss.
Roberto Duran- 1. Leonard- The level of opponent, boxing at it's best, and he won it clearly, easily one of the top tier wins of all time, and Duran performed to a degree wherein he was awe inspiring. 2. Dejesus- the third fight, oh my, this is certainly one of the most skilled fighters of all time. 3. Moore- this is the definition of turning in a performance.
:good Can't go wrong with any of those fights, certainly. I'd have probably given the Barkley performance the nod over Moore.
It's a better win for me, but that Moore performance is one for the ages for me. Maybe i'm a bit of a fan when it comes to that one though, i love it at the end of one of the rounds where Duran gets in his face and jumps up and down til Moore walks off, you know he's got him there and then. You can't write **** like that, pure drama, isn't Duran crying after the fight too? It was his birthday?
:good Absolutely. He took less in return than he did when he fought Barkley too. You could just see the life beating beaten out of Moore, he was getting visibly weaker as the rounds wore on. The referee should have been more aware of this himself considering he was standing a few feet away. I think the Carlos Palomino performance was amazing, too.
**** yeah, that Palomino fight was a fantastic performance, well and truly showcased the right hand from distance that Duran posessed. I think i'm gunna cry.
