I wouldn't say either whip the other, but I always go back and forth over Hagler-Hopkins. Hagler by the new weigh-in standards would've been a JMW. He would've put a lot of pressure and good volume on Nard, but Nard would've made it a real ugly fight. I could see either winning the decision.

I don't believe that Hopkins had yet reached his prime in that fight. In fact, I think his loss to RJJ actually helped BHOP to elevate his game.
Remember, that fight was just for the vacant IBF title.

I believe Hopkins was at his peak in '97 when he beat up on Glen Johnson.

I think he means physical peak. That's back when Hopkins used steam on his punches.

    You're right.
Neither Hopkins nor Jones were at their PRIME boxing ability when they faced one another for the IBF title.

So the question is who would beat a chinny overweight welter at middle?

I like Trinidad , but really come on.
