There isnt a SMW in history, and that was Calzaghe when getting a bit older

Well if they were in their respective primes I'd say Toney and Roy Jones would clearly beat him at 168.

i'd also favor a younger Hopkins against Joe C, but B-hop would have to pick up his workrate and fight a rough, dirty, tactical fight from the inside.

I also think Ward would beat him as well.

Listen up kid, Joe said himself on the recent Ringside special that he finished out his career in his physical prime so your claim that Joe was past prime to give more credence to the wins won't wash anymore.

Easy work for a 25 year old Roy.

Better footwork, faster hand speed, more power in either hand, better defence, better shot selection, better timing, better reflexes.

As great as he was, Joe was always easy to hit, and he was susceptible to right hands.

Joe is criminally overrated on this forum, and Roy is criminally underrated.

Anybody who seriously thinks that Joe could have beaten Roy at his peak, is deluding themselves.

Did Joe really say that? I read a while back that he said the version of himself that beat Kessler would kick young Joe's ass.

People seriously would pick Calzaghe against a 1994-96 Jones at 168?

    I mean seriously

Depending on who's posts you read the case could be made for the reverse. I think the fairest thing to say is that there are dedicated factions on this websites that overrate and underrate both.

Joe would be a huge underdog, unlike Roy being the underdog when they actually fought 13 years later.

You are basing alot of this on weak SMW comp and possibly a former LW fighting at SMW

With the way Toney had a tough time with Tiberi, I wouldnt be so sure.

What SMW fights of Jones give you this confident opinion?
That would be great to watch, if you can find it?

I agree to an extent, but people seem to have got short memories with regards to Roy. Not just on this forum, but on others too. Either that, or they never saw him prime.

I can respect the fact that people will have different opinions, but in my opinion, there's no evidence to support the theory that Joe could have beaten Roy.

    Bailey's comments are laughable.
