What on earth are you basing your opinion on? Don't give me stats, give me a breakdown.

How could he have beaten a guy that was more skilled, and who was faster, with more fire power?

    Your threads are funny.

You love the fact that Roy was tested in 2000, and you put all of his success down to his Roy'ds, because it pains you to give him any credit.

Only an idiot would believe that steroids could give you the attributes that Roy possessed.

Richard Hall supposedly had 10 x the amount that Roy had in his body, yet he took a horrible beating, before going on to cause Dariusz M problems.

I know all about Roy's prowess in the ring but was he a drugs cheat? That and there are some noticeable absences on his CV. RJJ, Toney, Sugar Shane, Holyfield etc. all have a big asterix next to their records in my book.

    It is was it is.

Also for what it's worth there are a fair few trolls on here who build up Calzaghe to get reactions. This leads to people diminishing his achievements in response as if he was some lucky club fighter which is equally embarrassing.

everyone goes on about calzaghes victory over hopkins as if it didnt count - because he was 43 at the time.... go check joes age and clear signs of decline also - PLUS... hopkins stayed in the P4P top twn for a good few years after that fight

the long and the short of it is, joe, past his prime, still made a p4p fighter look fooolish in hopkins - thats the long and the short of it

some people want to make a thing of Joe calzaghe being 37, when he finally got the courage to fight an ATG. But truth is joe had just beaten his best opponent ever so was arguably at his peak less than 2 years ago (Kessler).

And it was Joe who was waiting till Hopkins was getting beat and was 43. Noone stopped him going for USA top guns in their prime. - that's the long and short of it.

There are few champions in history fake enough to stake out ATGS until they were 40something and then wade in claiming historic victories as their career pinnacle.

its hilarious how Calzaghe fans want to claim Kessler is proof of Joes greatness and obviously his peak ability, and yet in the same breath claim Joe was badly faded 1 year after Kessler for roy, and then Hopkins.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if calzahge was ever even blood tested. I was just reading an article which stated Ped testing in Britain has been pretty lax until recently. Apparently price has never taken a blood test.
I believe 99% of top boxers are on something.

I just realized that someday weighins stopped in the mid 80s so there are literally dozens of LHW that would have beat his ass that night

Do people claim Calzaghe was at his best in the kessler fight? I think many think it is is best win but not necessarily when he was at his best.

Calzaghe is a difficult one as when he was green was the only time he had decent punching power as he had glass hands that were shattered later in his career. So it's impossible to really know when he was at his best.
