I don't really like Carl Froch, kinda whiny at times but he still is a solid fighter, not really a huge fan but I appreciate his skillset
Maidana & Brandon Rios - Hated both until each of their last fights, now I will never miss any of their future fights.
Nonito Donaire. Not that i didnt like him but i thought he was overrated and a one hit wonder living of his win over Vic D, for a long time i wanted to see him step up his comp and show us if he was for real or not and he did just that and now im a fan of his, not only is he the real deal inside the ring but hes also a class act outside of it.
Agbeko, he took some time off came back with a better atyle an now looks amazing only guy that poses a threat at that division for nonito
I second that, was like 6 when he fought Bowe twice. I still remember the brawl and will always remember that one.
Juan Diaz, constantly trying to step up his game and challenging the very best when he absolutely doesn't have to (given his gifts outside the ring). I didn't care for him when HBO initially hyped him up and he was undefeated. He made me a fan after losing and trying to claw his way back. Ditto Jermain Taylor. During his reign I balked at most of his defenses and found his often lackadaisical performances fairly underwhelming for a lineal champ. Seeing how he rebounded to his first taste(s) of defeat, wearing his hunger on his sleeve and trying to fine-tune his game (whether or not he succeeded) really impressed me. In hindsight I was able to look back on his skillset during his reign and acknowledge that he was a pretty damn good middleweight for a while, although never a FOTY participant. Of course, if we're talking about self-improvement (which seems to be a recurring theme among boxers who "made me a fan", after having initially not been one) - nobody beats Daniel Ponce De Leon in that department. He is the poster boy for lathering up some elbow grease and climbing the arduous hill of reinvention.
cotto first saw him fight torres and after watching that fight i became a huge fan and have been ever since
I agree. Man that other cat really needs a better conditioning coach. He was bretter of the two he just ran out of steam. I was starting to become a fan of him too. Oh well lol
Correct spelling? I haven't seen that ****ing word before in my life! I thought he was posting gibberish or something :yep
