There's no supermiddle in history that beats a prime Jones. Period!

If you wanna talk about a guy like Mike Spinks, Ezzard Charles, or Bob Foster beating him at 175, that's acceptable.

But nobody beats him at 168.

He would've beaten Calzaghe, and Ward handily.

fight was boring and neither guy was willing to engage so that is not really a fight that would prove how 'great' Roy was or could have been had he taken more risks and fought the best fighters that were available to him.

Two great undefeated SMW's in their 20s', an intriguing clash of styles, was boring?

Go and watch the WWE. :good

I don't know if anyone could've beat Roy at this time. Perhaps Joe Calzaghe at his best but I'd still heavily favor a prime Roy to beat a prime Calzaghe hes just to talented and Calzaghe was a bit to easy to hit. Maybe Andre Ward with his strength and excellent technique would be able to cause problems but I'd favor Roy heavily over him as well hes just to fast in and out I think Ward would have trouble getting close enough to control the fight and would get hurt a number of times trying to do so. Maybe Bernard Hopkins at his very best would find a way to win if he decided to go up to super middleweight. Possibly Thomas Hearns could land his right hand as Roy leeps in and put Roy's lights out but I think Roy has a better chance of knocking out Hearns. I think its safe to say Roy Jones Jr in his prime was the best super middleweight of all time.

I think Andre Ward is a nightmare for RJJ.

Don't know about that, Tommy had a glass jaw and with Roys amazing speed he could find Tommys weak spot.

The other way around is also true.

Roy could definitely knockout Hearns at 168.

Hearns got more chinny at 160 and up. He was on the downside of his career when he fought at SMW.

Toney didn't want to open up because of Jones's offensive onslaught. At the time Jones was the fastest thing since sliced bread with power and Toney who came after Nunn wanted no parts of going after Jones. Toney was gun shy not Jones moron.
