An all time great at his absolute peak is going to be a tough order. That said at 168 he's going to be pickings for the great Light Heavies that came in at 160-174.

I think Ezzard Charles would KO Jones on this night.

Harold Johnson, Gene Tunney, Archie Moore, Billy Conn, Sam Langford, Harry Greb, and Jimmy Bivns could all potentionally beat Jones. Lloyd Marshall also has a shot with his uncanny punching power at that weight and ability to find everyone he ever fought with his right hand. Not a knock against him, this is some of the greatest talent the sport ever saw.

An in shape Toney would have given Jones a tough fight. That is because Jones ducked him for the past 20years. :rasta

Yeah this was actually the last time Toney was in shape for a fight. He wasn't drained because his frame outgrew the division or had to come down after fighting at a higher weight. He just let him self get fat as **** between fights.

Thanks. Indeed to you, my knowledge and expertise would look impressive.

I do know the story and was letting you fall in. Are you aware of the stipulations DM had to abide by to defend those titles (WBA IBF) after just winning them in a 12 round fight with a rival champ?
I am aware of Del Valle, I recall Girard beating him

I havent used anything as an excuse, think you should go back and read up. I did note that neither fought real top comp at SMW. There biggest SMW fight was against each other and beither did much.
I just noted how good Calzaghe looked even when faded. I know we are talking prime, but I noted a considered prime Jones against Toney and a faded Calzaghe as an example. Seems that caused you a bit of confusion?
think you are making a bit more about Jones going back to defend his MW title. Who do you think was so good that he defended against?
You make out Jones didnt make weight as an excuse, but what about after he was beaten at LHW after his HW run... Could that not have been a valid excuse when Jones went back from HW to LHW. Still if you say we are not to use weight as an excuse..., then you backed yourself into a corner

still not sure why Jones fans are using this fight as an example. It wasn't a great fight.
