Good choices, definitely something to think about.

I thought you'd have gone with Liles though?

Which versions of the above fighters would you go with?

I think Hagler against a young 160 version of Roy would have been a great fight.

But I don't know about the Toney version of Roy at 25. Marvin could weigh in below 160, and I believe that Roy was almost 175 against Toney.

I also think you've got to be looking at LHW's of the past, that had same day weigh ins.

Spinks and Foster used to weigh about the same as what Roy did for his fights at SMW.

I think they would have posed huge threats.

I don't really know enough about Ezzard Charles to give an opinion.

Because he was at his peak at 25 years old, and had just beaten a great fighter with ease, who'd recently knocked Tim Littles out.

Toney was regarded as one of the best fighters in the world at the time.

True, but Littles was only 8 months before his fight with Roy.

For the fun of it ill say some names i think would be interesting to Roy:
A in shape Toney, that would be a hell of a match. 175
McCllelan at 168 to see how would a power boxer do against Roy.
A prime McCallum, that guy was a wonderful boxer and had a good chin.
Nunn as well, those long arms and had beautiful technique, style wise maybe he would present some difficulties.
Eubank as well, i would love to see that. I think Roy beats him but Eubank had a good work rate and power as well.
At HW i always wanted to see him against prime Holyfield. Man that would be a match to see!
I would not like to see him against others in this thread, not much to see there. Roy either stops them or wins a wide UD, except Ottke, who Roy murders in the ring.
