Marvin Hagler. Maybe because he beat up Sibbo and Minter.

Tommy Hearns: He scared me when I was a kid, especially at stare-downs.

Larry Holmes: Awful personality, only later could I appreciate his great skill.

    The opposite way:

Julio Cesar Chavez. Great champion turned whining spoilt little brat.

    Naseem Hamed: Deeply unpleasant ****.

    Joe Frazier
when i was younger i loved Ali of course and hated the first fight between him and frazier but then i started to love that bob and weave style because it was necessary considering his height and reach
now hes one of my favs of all time

Sugar Ray Leonard. I hated his show boating, still do, but I like his style (take out the show boating of course).

Hamed...Used to dislike him a great deal. I have come to enjoy his style a little more...BUT still do not consider him elite!

Hatton...Couldn't stand the little punk, but have come to appreciate him.

JCC...After the meldrick fight I HATED him for years...He still should have lost, but is now one of my fav's

George Foreman...Again after Smokin Joe was destroyed (2X's) I had to hate him...but in hindsight he was great and is now vastly under rated.

Joe Louis. I thought he was a slow, robotic, glass-chinned small heavyweight who was overrated because he beat up on small white hypes for 12 years, and would get the pants beaten off him by a good boxer, or big, powerful swarmer. Now I appreciate what the Brown Bomber brought to the table and consider him a nightmare for any heavyweight at his peak.:good

Lennox Lewis. Thought he was an arrogant *******. He still is of course, but i've grown to appreciate his ability and couldn't deny his record.

Jimmy Braddock is one that springs to mind.

When I started not knowing much other than records, needless to say, Braddock didn't jump out on me. Much earlier than before the movie did I come to appreciate that he willed himself to be a champion and that he was a lot tougher/better fighter than his record would suggest. He was also a helluva guy and a huge overachiever.

Joe Bugner; sure he was just glad to be there; but as time as gone by I got his sense of humour.

    :good Good man.

Joe Frazier is my all time favorite. He possibly got about as much out of his ability as he could have and that to me is what it is all about.

I wish Joe had taken Yank Durham's advice and retired after the FOTC.
