Personally i dont think Floyd Sr. is really that good of a trainer...he lives off of his kids name, its almost like when Switzer took over Johnsons Cowboys and tried to make it look like he was a better coach then he was...ahahaa

    Mikkel Kessler.

I think he has the rawline basics in place but needs better footwork, defense and counter punching - that's what FMS is best with.

Andre Berto, Miguel Cotto, and probably Paulie Malignaggi. These are guys that don't really have to rely on their ko power to win and already have great speed in their punches. Hatton did become a better fighter, but just followed the wrong gameplan vs. the Pacman and the victory was not for him that night. With these 3 guys, Mayweather, Sr would polish they're already high skills and take them to another level in their game or perhaps even extend their careers. Berto might become more consistent and Cotto and Malignaggi might not take as many unneccessary shots as they should, dominate, and get the most out of their jabs. Cotto and Paulie already have great jabs. I think Cotto might of made the fight with Manny alot closer had he used the jab more consistently and not trade with Pacman.

You people have come up with awful suggestions. I mean....Pavlik and Floyd Sr? Kessler?!

No, no, no. It just wouldn't work - to get the most out of the partnership there needs to be mutual understanding, respect and attitude - at the very least to boxing and training methods, but preferably to other aspects of life - as well as the style of boxing taught by the trainer being picked up easily and naturally by the boxer. It isn't easy to get the right balance, and these suggestions are, in the main, horrendous.

A good trainer can reinvent the wheel on a fighter, just look at Apollo Creed with what he did with Rocky.

I agree personality wise, I wouldn't see Pavlik and Kessler working well with Floyd Sr. but it seems to me that Pavlik learning to move laterally, using head movement and using his jab would be a good thing. Kessler may be not so good a matchup, he would probably be better off with Roach.

I agree with Ward learning the ropes from Floyd Sr, for as long as the partnership would last.
