Yeah, they wereeven iritaiting to Hatton when he was in his post fight interview with that bull**** ass chant! Hahaha
Yup, mostly ignorant football fans and chavs who know nothing, have never done anything, yet pretend they're something special just because they can get drunk and shout. You can usually tell them because other than Hatton and Khan they only boxer they know is Mayweather - and only because of all the hype on the Hatton fight. They try to demonstrate their knowledge by throwing in the words 'check hook' everywhere they can just because they heard Floyd say it (tell me u haven't noticed the same and I won't believe you). I've even had a straight-up-the-middle uppercut described to me as a 'check hook' lol. Or they come up with such wonderful thoughts as "If Naz came back he would knock Mayweather down, but Floyd would win on points in the end cos he's the best ever" or "Calzaghe should fight Mayweather next". Yes guys, there ARE weight divisions in boxing!! I should be happy that boxings getting more fans over here, but unfortunately a lot of the fans make me cringe with their overnight-expert self-important drivel. And blind delusions!
you're talkin to the wrong people, the only ones i've heard using the check hook thing are amercans on here. it annoys the **** out of me too. you're right about the football style fans, the booing of the yank anthem was horrible, but don't think those lads are clueless about boxing, for a start they spent thousands and travelled across the world to support hatton. then they got pissed and disgraced themselves. britain has always had a hooligan element ,whether its football or boxing , we just seem to get over-excited. i am not condoning their behaviour before anyone starts, just telling it how it is .i was as gutted when they jeered the anthem as anyone. on the flip-side by the way, this country has been known to create extraordinary atmospheres at events, as good as anywhere in the world.
Mayweather: Hate him all round.. Not just because of his fans, but they sure don't help either.. Gamboa: His fans make it out to be like he's the second coming.. Guzman: Basically the same as above..
Mayweather. I love to hate him. :yep I guess it really sunk in how much, when he compared himself with the likes of "Suger" Ray Robinson. He even went as far as to say he was better. Better!? atsch In any case, I will not even start on that at the risk of getting off topic heheh. But love em or hate him, he was good for boxing.
Absolutely love Pac but have a hard time dealing with his fans. Who I guess are my fellow fans in a way. Usually the ones I mean are filo or appear to be, and its great to see them parochial but jesus does your head in trying to have a discussion with them, its like argueing with a spoiled 6 year old who just wont listen to reason.
