The first name that immediately came to mind was Vitali Klitschko. Other names (in their primes) that I would also think of are Ray Mercer, David Tua, Oliver McCall, Mike Tyson, and Jerry Quarry to name a few. The last name may puzzle you but George Foreman has admitted that Jerry dropped him and broke his jaw in sparring and that he ducked him when he was a champion. The thing of slugging it out is this, any man over two hundred pounds is a threat. When you stand toe to toe and just trade you can make one mistake and end up kissing canvas, like Big George did when he fought Ron Lyle.

rather than name a fighter, can i just suggest any top tier heavyweight who had the combination of a very good chin, decent workrate and good power...i really do like foreman, but i just dont see him having the stamina to go 15 hard rounds with anyone he doesnt blast out...i still maintain that prime holyfield beats foreman over 15 rounds, mercer may be a good shout, but he didnt have the workrate, tyson may have a good shout too, well the best tyson ever that is..

i never thought of a prime mercer that would be interesting.

i think ruddok would loose but ruddoc would put up a good fight.

who ever said valuev that would be something to pay for idk who would win that one. maybe foreman but wud be close.

and how about a prime primo carerra or whatever that guy name was. should be interesting.

Foreman landed flush on him many times and slapped him around for the entire fight. No one in the history of the heavyweight division could take a shot as well and for as long as Ali did. Because of his legendary chin I'll go with the man who actually beat a prime Foreman.

Not sure when "Prime" Foreman was :huh Angelo Dundee says that old Foreman would have given Ali a much better fight than young Foreman did :smoke

First of all why would anyone go toe to toe with Foreman?
I would look at guys with good chins more than hard punchers.
Ali didn't really outslug Foreman but he out lasted him.
I think Tyson and Bowe have the best chances.

Not one heavyweight throughout history has greater power than Foreman and few have a better chin, any heavyweight going toe to toe with FOreman would definetly get koed. I think of a few heavyweight boxers with excellent skills who could out box foreman though

Foreman did go to the body as well. He took out george chuvalo who has one of the best chins in history by launching some nasty body shots right off the bat. I think foreman is by far the better fighter and underrated in some regards, he wasnt just a head hunter and knew to go to the body on guys with good chins

Also tua is strong but is he stronger than foreman? Foreman was really good at placing people where he wanted them so he could land, he would push (illegally), look at around 48 seconds in, he pushes chuvalo with just one arm and he goes flying across the ring, he was very strong and could move tua where he wants him

Here, I'll make it easy for the UFC fans on the board and list those who COULD NOT stand up to a prime Foreman and who would likely be KO'ed before the 8th round.

    Wlad Klitscho
    Vitali Klitscho
    David Tua
    Ike Iabucchi
    Marciano
    Max Bayer

The few who could stand with and outbox or out slug Prime Foreman in their primes

    Lennox Lewis
    Ali
    Bowe
    Liston
    Tyson
    Cooper
