They weren't really wars. George freely admits that Sonny was intimidating and was hurting him, and had George backing up and boxing. He said that Sonny Liston was the only man that ever turned Big George into a boxer.

For everyone slagging on Tua, you can just throw out pretty much every fight he ever had after Ibeabuchi. imho Tua should have won that fight, but it ruined him, he was maybe 65% of the fighter after that fight that he was going into it.

Shavers was an incredible puncher but his chin was ****, if he would have stood infront of Foreman he'd of been KO'd with in 3 rounds.

I really suprised as well that people think Tyson could handle a prime a Foreman.

Tyson era was really bad before Lewis and Holeyfield came on. It was even worst than today imo.

He had everything to make him look good, Tyson for me would be a piece of meat against Foreman imo.

Foreman was bigger, stronger, better stamina, better work rate, better tools, better ring control, better intimidater.

Tyson was better with the one punch power.

I feel you need to be a believer to choose Tyson in that match up.

Only one imo, Prime Mike. And he'd knock Foreman out. Surprised how many people are picking Foreman to walk through Tyson. Tyson with his athletic ability and killer speed would have no trouble picking off Foreman's big winding punches and would get to his chin first, and it would be "Thank you and goodnight!"

I'm not picking Tyson, because Tyson wouldn't outslug him. Tyson was more of a swarmer in his prime and Foreman was the ultimate slugger. Swarmers have troubles with sluggers.

Well Tyson wouldn't go in there like Arturo Gatti looking to take punches to land some. He was a much better fighter than that, and I've seen him knock guys cold with precision counterpunching.

:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Um are you forgetting that middle aged fat foreman became linear champ in the 90s?

Prime holyfield couldnt knock him out!

Look at how much George did improve defense wise with a good trainer in Angelo Dundee, he had a much better strategy in his old age.

So if steward had a prime Foreman in the 90s and foreman had top notch nutritionists you think he wouldnt do well when he did pretty well as an old fat man?

In the 2nd fight, its clear he took a dive. In the first fight, no way, you dont try to blind the opponent with putting a substance on your gloves if you are trying to loose the fight, he was clearly desperate and struggling in the first fight and wanted to win badly. He was supposed to win the first, which is why I suspect he was forced to take a dive the 2nd fight because he probably lost somebody a lot of money on the first fight. It aint wacko conspiracy **** either, he was murdered and had known mob connections.

Tyson in his prime was too fast and too powerful. He could defenitely hurt foreman.

Possibly Sonny Liston. Jim Jeffries was a bit of an animal. Tyson maybe. Though Tyson wouldn't like the physicality of Foreman and his ability to outmuscle him and push him back. Nor would he like Foreman's punching power and solid chin. If Holy could fight on equal terms with Tyson by actually fighting him and giving and taking, then Foreman would certainly be able to. All this is conjecture though. Basically we find the biggest, strongest, hardest hitting heavyweights with the best chins I guess. Overall I'd go Liston. He was a scary scary man and great strength and power as well as intimidation powers.
