I didn't really like Joe Louis style, I mainly liked the boxers I posted. They were really smooth and nice with their footwork.

I stuck with fighters there's film of that I've seen. Some more of the Murderer's Row could theoretically make it, but I didn't put them on. Same with John Henry Lewis and other 30s LHWs.

Agreed. shook his hand in Vegas 1980 while I was over there to see Minter/Antoufermo fight, shame really, he was by then confined to a wheelchair and unable to speak ! I was charged $10 ,apparently this money was for Joes upkeep, on reflection whish I hadn't seen the great champ so disposed. keep well.

Me neither. Can't remember if it was a forward in Joue Louis' book or a part from Robinsons....but I remember Robinson talking about people saying that Joe didn't look great with his footwork as it wasnt flashy, and Robinson countering that by saying that he did in fact have excellent footwork, its just that he used his feet to make sure he was ALWAYS capable of landing incredibly hard punches!

Joe Louis footwork worked because of his size at The time. For a smaller agressor (as he must have been today or else he would have been totally smoked) Floyd Patterson had much better footwork.

Louis fought tons of opponents his size or larger.
