Jimmy Ellis - Jerry Quarry comes to mind.

Michael Spinks vs Dwight Muhammad Quai looked like a can't miss, but was really a drag

Bonavena/Chuvalo figured to be a war. It was dull.

    De La Hoya vs Trinidad.

Two unbeaten p4p top 10 fighters in their absolute primes sounds like a cant miss recipe but it missed big time.

The fight stunk really. One fighter chose to play it safe and turn it into a snorefest and the other wanted to mix it up but wasn't good enough to.

If there was no controversy with the decision, no one would even talk about it.

Maybe it did. Watch it on YouTube. Let me know what you think. It was two bulls with locked horns.

I don't recall at the time that anybody expected their rubber match to be any different than it was.

You're probably thinking of Chuvalo-Patterson as FOTY. But on the subject, the first two that came to my mind was Mayweather -Pac and Mayweather-Canelo.
