Of course they will discredit him, its just their way of saying "welcome back floyd". They love to hate on him, but look behind the words. Most of his haters just want to see him lose, they don't care if he fights who they'd consider the best. If he wins they will immediately discredit him and throw someone else in his face that he supposely can't defeat.

 

Seriously...Floyd is not that impressive. JC Chavez, B Hop, RJJ, Calzaghe, Barrera, Pac Man....Floyd has some questionable wins

Let's count p4p fighters who they faced (at the time they faced them)

Mayweather: Corrales, Castillo, Hatton.

Hopkins: Trinidad, Jones (defeated), Wright, Calzaghe (close loss), Pavlik, Taylor (IMO won at least one fight), Tarver. - better resume, probably the best.

Pacquiao: Barrera, Morales, Hatton, Marquez. - better resume

Wright: Trinidad, Mosley, Taylor (IMO won), Hopkins (close defeat, IMO draw), Williams - for me, better resume.

I could continue, but that is enough...

erm do you know what fringe world class is? It's like being in the top 5 of the majority of the orgs' rankings and you need to have some good wins on your record, and also be a good but not excellent fighter obviously.

Castillo and Corrales were excellent fighters, and destroyed many fring world class guys, because they were pure world class. Floyd was the under-dog in the Corrales fight.
