Aaron Pryor wasn't joking when he Bolizianized Arguello who was moving up from LW to Super LW.

Arguello, an already great fighter who has dominated across three weight divisions (featherweight, super featherweight and lightweight) for a period of 8 years, moves up to attempt to become the first man in history to win a world title in a fourth weight class. He then gives a pretty damn heroic performance, even in defeat, in one of the greatest fights of all time. I'm calling BS on this one.

Yes it was heroic, but he still got brutalized by Pryor.

    Whatever. Happy New Year.

Yeah, I thought of Olivares too but then eliminated him based on his winning the Featherweight title and beating Bobby Chacon in the process. Plus he gave Arguello all he could handle at 126. Zarate I think fits the bill slightly better when comparing all-time great Mexican bantamweights.

It's surreal to think about, but that's how great he was at 118. Even though he did win the title and have great wins at feather... the reality is that he was compromised from the moment he took the old school giant weight jump up 118 to 126.

Jaime Garza looked like a power punching little monster at 122, with a one time record of 40-0 with 38 stoppages.... but Garza seemed considered weaker and smaller just one weight class up at 126.

Same with Whitaker vs Trinidad, though Whitaker didn't get stopped. He took a bad beating and clearly was passed his prime and above his best fighting weight.

The most striking example that comes to my mind is Bob Foster. Can anyone top that? (I'm sure they can, which I'll be curious to hear.)

But yet he won titles at 126 lbs and 130 lbs

Sanchez was simply a better all around fighter than Wilfredo Gomez.

He looked good all the way up through 140 lbs.
