To still be elite level at mid 30s is an achievement. Boxing is a hard game. Camps, sparring, making weight, also take a toll.

 

Didn't we do this thread a few months ago? I remember saying JMM, Martinez, Mayweather, Moore, Hopkins, Zaragoza, plus heavyweights. Most of those are obviously pharmaceutical miracles, but some is good genetics and technique.

Golovkin, Povetkin, Vlad was still good at 35 so was Vitali................

 

GGG v Canelo now sort of reminds me of Vitali v Haye way back, just when Vitali was beginning to lose that ferocity around the Chisora time period. Its a much closer matchup than it ever should have been. Prime smaller athletic banger versus the ageing Soviet destroyer!
