    Let's have fun.

Please name some fighters who are much lauded but do not deserve it. They have thin resumes, they were the recipients of screwjob wins, their best opponents were way passed it, they got lucky, they got away with cheating, they cherry-picked, the benefited from a weak era...whatever.

If you don't mind, I will abstain from naming mine just yet, as I don't want this to be a discussion of my picks. I want to hear from you. Hand out the shame!

    Vitali Klitschko comes to mind

Not saying I didn't rate him but his résumé isn't very good at all yet he's considered a top tier heavyweight ahead of possibly dozens with better resumes.

Excellent answer always said there is no separation when comparing Vitali’s WBC reign to Wilder’s..

I’m going to go with Miguel Cotto.. I believe he’s an HOFer but outside of Shane Mosley his career has been a lot of smoke and mirrors.. The way he won his 154 and 160 titles were criminal.. Credit to him for fighting Pacquiao, Tony, Floyd, Trout and Canelo but he still lost them all.

Jack Dempsey. He's always pegged as some kind of beast, and an ATG HW. In reality his résumé reads of a bunch of 'meh' contenders, a few MWs and some old men. He also has a nice win over Jack Sharkey (which for this to be his best win is pretty telling imo).

There's no reason to rate him above Wlad, Tyson, Marciano, Holyfield or even Riddick Bowe. Even H2H, he gets elevated to godhood, when in reality he's a CW-sized, crude swarmer who relied on his chin, speed and power. That strategy wouldn't work against able guys 50lbs heavier.

I thought Cotto fought well v Floyd though.

Lewis, I didn`t rate his opponents at all, the best of them was an ageing Holy who was always quite easy to hit.

I`ll put Eubank Sr because some British fans actually call him a legend while all he beat was a fighter that was out-classed by McCallum and a wild, raw 160lbs Benn, he also struggled in many world title fights v limited contenders, no nationalism here as I am British.

Don't you rate Crawford highly, though?

    The Son Of God.

    Draino win against Dawson
Headbutt cut win against Kessler. May have won, but asterisk win.
    Lost first Kovalev fight.
Weird nutsack attack stoppage in second Kov fight. May have won, but asterisk win.
Took his ball and SPRINTED home.

Best 'clean' win is Froch, and even there he spent the fight clinching and ducking below the waist, just that headbutts weren't landing.

Naz is considered a legend by some but his performances faultered as he went up in levels in terms of opposition.

I feel at the lighter weights fighters are quicker and more technical and he has looked better in those bouts than Lewis looked in his.

I wonder who your pick is going to be.

Been said but Vit K is probably a good shout. I and others rate him highly but his resume isn't great. In a few years time Golovkin may well end up falling into this category too, if he doesn't already.
