Holyfield. If you call him active, ok.

Avg sports joe wouldn't know barrera IMO. Hatton ya. Pacquiao yes, especially as DLH fight nears and hype builds.

I don't know any average American sports fans so, round here:

    Joe Calzaghe
    Ricky Hatton
    Amir Khan
    Maybe David Haye.

Possibly they'd still come up with Audley Harrison.

Hopkins, Mayweather, Kessler maybe as high profile opponents of Calzaghe and Hatton.

I know a few casual boxing fans who know of MAB. It's mainly because he beat Naseem Hamed (another fighter whose a "name" amongst casual fans).

It isn't a favorites thread. Its a most famous thread. Nobody knows Amir Khan and everybody knows Mayweather Jr.

    Jones
Klitchko's - despite the abysmal heavyweight division, the average us fan doesn't follow your bantamweights and flyweights... the draw will always be going to see Mike Tyson's and the like. We know the klitchkos are no Mike Tyson as far as excitement, but the average fans want to see heavyweight champs.
    Bernard
Margorito - Very popular fighter in the west coast. Beat a VERRRY popular fighter who fights every eve of a big east coast celebration!
Cotto - despite the loss, he was at one point coined as the next goldenboy when it came to popularity and draw.
