Toney was a fat waste who had all the talent but none of the work ethic, i must admit I was surprised he beat Vasily Jirov though

People who have fought within the division: jones jr and andre ward.

I think fitz, conn and charles would beat him despite never fighting in the fledgling division.

All 5 i've seen footage of and all 5 have proven to be very effective at around 168 pounds. All 5 i'd favour over toney at his very best.

Stop judging G man from the benn fight seriously the guy was a beast and btw he beat RJJ in the ams.

He would have ko'd many a super middle early as he almost and some say did to benn if that hadn't happened to him G man would have gone on to ATG status imo.

Andre Ward, Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones JR, Montell Griffin, and thats the recent fighters who I've been alive to see fight. There are many old school fighters who would have been able to beat James Toney.

I forgot about Calzaghe. Calzaghe would win too. It's mainly because of styles.

Calzaghe was like a Roy Jones Jr in style. That is the style it takes to beat a prime Toney, or the extremely technical slippery style of a Hopkins, Ward, Tarver or Griffin.

People need to stop complaining about Toney's work ethic. He won titles in multiple divisions. You don't do that without work ethic.

Talent doesn't come from no where, while he had a lot of talent he is also a technical fighter. So he didn't have the athleticism to fall back on, and when he got old like most fighters get he slowed down.

We don't complain about Ricky Hatton, or many others but we complain that Toney doesn't have work ethic? Toney dropped down to cruiserweight and we are still complaining about his worth ethic? The problem with Toney is that he got old, just like Roy Jones Jr. He isn't a Bernard Hopkins work ethic wise but neither are most boxers. Mike Tyson didn't have the work ethic of a James Toney or the skill yet no one complains about Mike Tyson lacking work ethic.

Toney probably could have won the heavy weight title, the fact that hes won more titles than Bernard Hopkins despite his so called lack of work ethic shows me that he doesn't have much left to prove and thats why he lost interest.

Imagine if you won every title in every division you ever fought in. It's almost like the problem Floyd has.
