veit was a nothing, man, get with it.

bika was a one title win titlist, and he was better than veit.

Jesus that ref sucked balls. One of the worst performances I've seen. On a par with the referee for the Italy / S Korea world cup match.

I know. It's hard to believe. No subtlety about it at all. He was a step away from him and Ottke tag teaming Reid.

They should have put chairs into the ring so that the ref could swing them into Reid's head when he wasn't looking :cursing2: Nevermind the knockdown that was disallowed or the spurious 1 point warning for getting headbutted ( :BangHead: ) the bit where the ref warns Reid for hitting Ottke in the head was the cherry on the cake for me.

I read a bit on this fight now and it seems that Reid got discouraged by this blatant BS and took his foot off the gas later in the fight. IMHO he should have gone balls to the wall and if the ref disqualified him, so be it. Turn it into a proper incident. F that ref, makes the Kovalev / Ward result look like amateur hour :shakehead:

Jerry Quarry faced both Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier twice. He didn't win. "but he faced them."

You must rank Quarry a top 10 HW, maybe top 5, easily.

    Cool story there. Solid logic.

I think it becomes very interesting after the top 3-4.

You know I always respect your opinions.

You have a lot of knowledge on the history of the division. Much more than me.

I would love to see your top 15 SMW's of all time.

Are they listed by ability or achievements?

This is how you rewrite history.
Look at round 2 of Beyer/Bika and tell me how you think Beyer won round 2? Also how you can have such an opinion of a 4 round draw. Round 3 and 4 Bika was getting on top

Woodhalls loss to Beyer was close and debatable

I would have had it as a toss up too.

    A great clash of styles.

There's a chance it could have been a horrible match up. But it would have been intriguing either way.

Ra does rewrite history. He has been picked apart for it before. There was one time where someone brought up video evidence against him with regards to a headbutt which was known.

He rewrites history terribly and has been picked up for it. I have seen him argue things until video evidence has shown otherwise. Yes he has knowledge on European SMWs but the history rewriting is too much

I wouldnt be shocked if his SMW top 10 would be something like
    Ottke
    Beyer
    Sartison
    Chanet
    Veit
    Calzaghe

I base ratings on wins and achievements in a certain division

    1. Calzaghe
    2. Eubank
    3. Ottke
From here onwards I think it is very debatable where there are several that could be given 4th place in my opinion but I would go with Collins for 2 wins over Eubank, 2 wins over Benn and the Sellier win. the Carr win was decent also.

    4. Collins

5 is even more difficult as I can see completely different arguments for different boxers whether I agree or not - Kessler, Beyer, Liles, Mitchell, Woodhall, Reid, Benn, Malinga, Jones, Park, Froch, Ward

I would possibly go Kessler, Benn, Jones, tough to say here

    It was absolutely disgusting.

Robin did well to keep his composure. Because I think I'd have walked out of the ring if I'd have been in that position.

    That should have been investigated.

I don't know what was worse, the performance of the referee, or Ottke looking for his aid at every available opportunity. It was outrageous.
