ok ill start the ball rolling.

Ricky burns .fought a few bums but went up a weight on his 10th fight to beat Earl (then british champion) and then took arthur pretty close about 3 fights later.seems like he had his fair hard fights early in his career aswell as his fair share of bums.

also jamie moore.came up agains a hard fighter called michael jones to win the british title pretty eary in his career.again he has fought the journeyman but some hard fights including a loss to scott dixon.

Haye and Burns.... Burns beat Danny Thorpe, Colin Bain and a 7-2-1 Jeffro (who hadn't really lost) before beating Earl... since then he's mixed in very good company. Appleby beating Simpson is good form too...

Number of fights does not maketh a fighters record un-padded!

Ditto tothat. Most boxers have some kind of padded record these days but everyone fights a few lower level fighters in their first few fights (except David Reid and look what happened to him).

Burns might not have a padded record for his ability, but I doubt we'd look too fondly upon his competition if we were talking about one of Britain's top boxers. This is all relative.

A true padded record has to be Akaash Bhatia. For a relatively talented young fighter he has only fought 2 guys with a winning record, nevermind a real challenge.

Not padded at all, maybe Johanneson. Loads of tough fights for a fighter of his ability.

    Haye has a padded record.

He is a World Class fighter.

But alot of his early wins are padded easy wins.

He fought Carl Thompson - fair enough - but too much too soon there.

He fought Gurov and Frogemeni - European - Fringe World Class at best.

The only World Class fighters he has faced was

    Jean Marc Mormeck

    and

    Enzo Maccarnelli

so credit to Haye for beating the two best crusierweights in the world

    but apart from that

Glenn Kelly, etc, etc, etc - is padded

    People knock Enzo Maccarnellis record

    but

Domigueuz and Braithwaite are as good a oppostion as Frogemeni and Gurov

    then guys like

    Gary Delaney

    and

    Isamuel Abdul

Enzo and Haye have both fought them

Haye fought those guys when he was at their level though. He was built up, went through the British class, then European and then world. He may not have always fought great fighters, but he was matched against tough opponents for where he was at.

Enzo fought Bobby Gunn after being a world champion for almost a year.

    Good point there Pack.

Yeah the Bobby Gunn fight was a **** take, more to do with Warren that Enzo Mac. Enzo would fight anyone put in front of him. Warren just fed him a bum
