How can you make the excuse for any fighter fighting in a weight class? How Sway? How can you say that his career at 147 don't count because he could have weighted less? He fought consecutive fights at 147 which made him a WW if you agree or not..

And like I said before, if a fighter trains by eating fast food and sleeping all day and shows up to fight, makes the fight excusable? You fault the opposition for doing things the right way and excuse the guy who trained by "throwing rocks" and "drinking pee"? How Sway?

Marquez still holds the KO over Pacquiao @ 147. How many other guys can say as much?

It boggles my mind that i have to explain this, again and again. HOF induction is based on a career, its accomplishments and merits.

Hatton is probably a HOF worthy fighter, not in terms of ability but definitely in terms of influence, similarly to Gatti. He stirred nationalistic feelings in millions of brits and made boxing more popular.

That being said, Hatton at the time of Mayweather fight was a shell of himself and May deserves no credit for beating him. As simple as that. People who claim they know boxing have to know this.

Let me put it this way. When someone lists Hatton as a prime hall of famer in Mayweather's career, I go "yup, this guy/gal never boxed before and his/her only exposure to the sweet science has been through boxing fitness classes at the local ymca".

I think Cotto is a definite lock, although I don't think he was a "great" fighter. I rank Cotto as "very good".

But it's not like boxing's IBHOF voting is especially stringent. Cotto's definitely going to get in there for popularity and being the first Puerto Rican to win titles in 4 divisions (although I've discussed this numerous times how his 4 titles is far inferior to Benitez's 3 when you look at the whole picture).

This so called Prime Hatton ducked PBF at 140 saying that they weren't ready for PBF back then after PBF put a demolition job on Gatti. PBF couldn't get a fight with Hatton so he moved up to fight Zab. Blame Hatton for the fight not happening at 140 not that it would have made a difference, the PBF that beat Gatti at 140 would have stopped Hatton even sooner than he stopped him at 147.:deal

Cotto is a lock for the HOF 4 weight belt holder. First Puerto Rican to do that. The thread starter is full of ****.

I'd put the Tom Johnson win as Hamed's best. Johnson was the best FW out there and made a dozen title defenses.

Maybe you'd care to explain your reasoning for the above assertion. I'd love to hear it...
