JLC was the champ and was PBF's first fight at 135. How in the hell was he a cherrypick dumbass? Some people here don't know what cherry picking is.
Chavez Jr- Fonfara is one. Chavez Jr thought Fonfara would be easy work and a easy way to pick up a belt but Fonfara had other ideas.
PBF won the fight dummy. Cherry picking gone wrong is when you lose. People here don't know that including the thread starter.
I think Broner-Maidana too, not that Maidana was a bad opponent but they were expecting to roll over him.
I'm honestly surprised nobody mentioned Berto-Soto Karass since that seems to be the era and weight range that we're honing in on. Apologies if someone did and I missed it. I have seen Ishida-Kirkland mentioned, but that really is the home run choice. Nobody in their right mind would've picked Ishida. Even the trolls wouldn't have picked him by KO1.
Both of these are good ones! I was with some friends (casual boxing fans) watching the Berto vs Sotto Karass fight. They were all picking Berto based on his physique and were shocked to see the lanky Mexican busting up Berto. I had forewarned them it takes more than a muscular physique to get you a win in this sport.
Hmmm Would one consider Amir -Khan vs Brindis Prescott a cherry pick gone wrong? They were both undefeated but Khan had the better boxing pedigree being a standout Olympian Medalist. I just remember seeing lots of hype surrounding Khan prior to this fight and how Prescott would be outclassed.
:good Classic casual mistake- just because a guy looks like an auto mechanic who hits the gym once a week doesn't mean the Hulk isn't in for a world of trouble.
Floyd got a gift decision He didn't win the fight Floyd got his ass kicked :|:| like a baby *& blamed Tony Weekes for not PROTECTING him when Maidana " roughed me up & bullied me" ROFLMAO Poor wittle Floyd had his mother hen Kenny Bayless to protect him in the rematch :yep
